At least it is here in SW Florida. Ran 3 miles in the dark, foggy predawn and was very thankful for the headlight that I have received at Christmas. I'm convinced it was the only way the guy driving the garbage truck saw me, if not for that I'd have been diving out of the way and into a ditch.

Enjoy the weekend. Race well, if you are racing, train well if you aren't. Live well no matter what

I had a real slow mile here. Once I got off the 200 yrd of snowy sidewalk onto the road I run on it turned out to be a sheet of ice, so I took the short loop and slide home instead of doing the smart thing by going home and hitting the gym later.

Morning!

4:15am:  45 minute walk/run type of thing.  Amazing when I broke into my first little trot...felt so gooooood!  Tomorrow I think I will do a full on run workout.  The cough is still hanging on a bit, but I do believe it's time to get back to business!

Yay for Friday...will be a great day at school!  Last Saturday our little town's boys high school basketball team battled a private school in Las Vegas to become the 2A NEVADA STATE CHAMPS!  It was an amazing game, came down to the last 9 seconds.  Today we'll have a community wide assembly to celebrate the win.  I had all the boys as chubby little 7th & 8th graders playing basketball at lunch...to see them now as these towering young men who achieved such success makes my little heart swell with pride!

Have a great day!

Happy birthday Foggy!

I ended up taking four days off due to helping my dad after surgery and coming down with a wicked cold.  Today I'm back home, back on my bike for the commute. Going to try and make up some of my runs as I'm doing the Higdon Half marathon plan.

Training outdoors in Sault Ste Marie? Brrrrrr!

Since we got on the topic of birthdays...it's my birthday today and I thought I'd take a rest day. But I'm not getting any younger, and I want cake tonight. So I got in a strength session, and I'm tempted to jump in the pool later tonight, if dinner isn't ridiculously late.

Happy Birthday GreenMtnLabbit!  I remember welcoming you to BT when you posted in the Newbies area. =)

Anyway, it's running intervals (5x400m/5x600m) day for me after work.  If I can squeeze it in, I'll hit the pool after for 2350.

Swam 45mins this morning. About 5 minutes before I was done this woman enters my lane and proceeds to continually lap me. Perfect flip turns and everything. Turns out she's on the Penn State team and here for the weekend. Talk about nice form.

Oh, core routine and 6 mile run this afternoon, too.

If you gotta get lapped, it may as well be by a Division I swimmer.  45 min swim for me too this morning (no collegiate swimmers in my pool, though).  Main set was 3 x 500 -- felt good for the first time in a long time.

I was recently lapped by a person doing back stroke, very awesome to watch....  humbling but awesome.

1800yd pool, and 15min rec run later, after long ride on trainer.
