...starts next month! The country's favorite team, BSU, will be opening their season on the road at MSU. I think we are probably going to lose that game and maybe the Southern Miss game as well. We lost 19 starters, including 6 to the NFL. This is a bad year for us, so I'm ready for all the haters to come out of the woodworks about what a flash in the pan we are. Next year though, Kellen Moore jr. will be our QB (he goes by Nick Patti) and we will resume our place as America's team. HA

I saw today Saban is in favor of the SEC going to 9 conference games. I'm surprised, because it typically seems like more and more every BCS conference team is all about the least difficult scheduling they can get away with. I think personally, I'd like to see 8 conference games and add some more big OOC games like last years LSU/Oregon or BSU/UGA. That would be more exciting to me.

Eight games or nine?  Does it really matter when we have to face them during the season and again in the Nat'l Title?  :/

I understand his reasoning is b/c the conference is getting so large. Personally, I like a tough schedule.  NOT that we have to go OOC for that schedule.  Take a look at the Top 25 polls last year, few of our oponents were ever ranked outside of the top 15.
This year is a whole different story for us however.  Our schedule doesn't even start until late Sept/early Oct.

Watch out, Arkansas State, you're the team against whom the team builds false hope before Wisconsin comes calling.

HOOK 'EM, BABY!!!!!!!  The Horns will surprise this year.  We're going to WIN the Big 12 in spite of Harson (turns out that razzle dazzle cr@p doesn't work so well against real competition).  I wish either he stop calling that junk or we drop him.  If we don't then it's all his fault and we fire him.......  If not a win, then at least #2.

Apparently #2 in your conference doesn't keep you out of the National Championship game, so we'll still have a chance at that!!!!!

I actually like Saban's idea about 9 in conference games (of course the Big 12 plays that anyway now) but I like the idea of superconferences, too.  I'd like to see super conferences where teams don't play outside of them other than in bowl games. The hard scheduled OOC games are what the bowls are for.  If they did that it would take care of both issues.  Granted I love watching the few extra big games during the season, but I think superconferences would force that to happen also.

Of course Texas and Oklahoma would like to just play in-conference every year. Beating Iowa State and Kansas over and over isn't tough. Either the Longhorns or the Sooners would go undefeated every year if that were the case. You'd have to actually bring in some good programs to the Big XII to make it competitive.

Beating Iowa State and Kansas has been tough for UT lately. Wish Big 12 still had Nebraska....now THAT was a easy win.....

Yeah, we can catch, what the last 6 national champions without going out of conference?

And go back another two and y'all have another one as well.

Texas A&M should have their hands full this year.

See the problem is Peterson is the offensive mind. All the OC's are just riding his coat tails.

My assumption there was that we would actually draw some real teams into the Big 12, so I'm kinda with you on that one.  We'd bring in 6 and I think there are probably 6 good team out there that would make it AT LEAST as competitive as what the Big 10 would have.  The only conference better than the Big 12 right now is SEC.

Ha. Aw despite what I say I love my Huskers and I have high hopes for them again this year, just like every year. We need a big year from Martinez. If he's been doing all the work on his passing he says he has, we could see good things. GO BIG RED!
