with 4500+ posts, the bear has undoubtedly given more great cycling advice to newbie triathletes on BT and otherwise than any other, and I wish to honour him now and officially recognize him and thank him for the time he continues to give to 'no-it-alls' like myself.

Thanks, bear.

...I'm not worthy

...and my bike is slow yellow...

...and you will be my measure of worthiness before I plunk down $$$ on a P3SL next season!

All hail the bear!

Did you pay him to say that John????

the bear - 2005-07-31 7:49 PM Gee, where'd that come from?

aw, c'mon, it's been coming for awhile! You must have been waiting for it!

I've been on BT since January of this year, and you've always been there, on top of every cycling question, with sage words of advice and pearls of wisdom.

"Gee, where'd that come from?"

It comes from a new-found love of the sport and respect for those with more knowledge than oneself <cough, cough> on the road to becoming the best triathlete/cyclist one can be.

Thanks, bear.

See what happens when you have a beer? No seriously Bear I have to say I told two members yesterday to PM you with their bike questions. You are a font of knowlege and someone whose thoughts and opinions I always take into consideration on Bike issues. You rock! (I still imagine you as a big old grizzly on a tri bike.. yes, yes I saw the photo but in my mind you are a salmon chugging furbeast).

Well he's certainly given more advice more often than anyone else here, I'll give you that.

...and my bike is slow yellow...

I'm not familiar with that particular shade of yellow. Must be a local Canuck variety.

All hail the bear!

Umm... No.
Don't get me wrong, I like the bear, I consider him a friend. He's a nice guy, he's reasonable, intelligent, always willing to help someone out, coaches TnT and T-ball even. But "hail" him? Like Max said, he'd be impossible to live with. And if there's one person other than the bear I won't argue with here, it's Max.

Well, Max, I'm YOUR fan.  You were big-time wonderful today to us newbie ladies at Danskin.  Standing around on a cold morning holding a big sign for four hours... you were great.  I especially appreciated that you didn't put on a jacket, 'cuz that Ironman tattoo is a sight to see in real life.

Go Bear. His advice has always been well put even if all he ever says is ride lots.

David, this comment put a smile on my face because most often, that's all that's required :-)

I was one of those people! But Bear had already answered my post about my pedals with great info so I didn't.

Actually it was not you But Kim and my friend Mark who lurks here. I actually was going to just post his question. Kim had a guy at a bike shop tell her that for Tris she needed fatter tires (She rides an MTB) and bullhorns.. which is FINE if you mountain bike but not so much for tris.

Okay, so it wasn't exactly yesterday. But it was last week when I was asking you about used pedals! I figured this was one of those things where people say yesterday and really mean sometime in the last month. But this only means that you recommend him pretty often.
