And not just small, but isolated too. Winnemucca - 8000 people, 178 miles to a city.
Wow, that is crazy! I live less than 178 miles from New York City, Philly, Baltimore, and DC...not to mention all the places in between that are large enough to classified as a city. I couldn't imagine being where you are. My town only has 20,000 people...kinda small for my immediate area, but there are small towns not too far from here. I like that we have LOTS to do close by, though. I always tell everyone that NJ is the best place to live, whether in the northern or southern part of the state (although I prefer Southern ). You can make a day trip to aforementioned cities, plus the beach or the mountains (skiing in winter, hiking and rafting in summer ), not to mention that you can shop around for different airports when flying somewhere. I could go on and on, but I don't want to hijack.
