I'm doing UBC for my first as well!  More excited than nervous right now, but I am sure the butterflies will be there on race day.  I was shocked when I got the '2 weeks to go' email today--it has come up so fast!  I'm doing the sprint.

Always have a great time at UBC. Well run event. It is an excellent race for a first timer. Everyone is very supportive and I would assume most are noobies.

Peby - Did you mean Oliver Half (June 3rd) or Wine Capital of Canada (June 17th).  I've been eyeing the Oli Oly on the 17th but haven't registered yet.  I still have to convince my wife I NEED a wet suit first.  I have registered for the Penticton Granfondo but Oliver would be my first Tri.

I guess I still have to convince myself I'm ready for an Oly distance.

Is anyone in the Kelowna area?  I'm working on fitting back into my wetsuit and plan on doing the Apple tri for the first time.

"Kelownagirl" is (obviously) from Kelowna and I'm sure she'll respond to your request.

I'll be at UBC and Oliver (for the half). I'm booked at Lakeside too. We're getting so close now! At least there's finally been some decent days for to get rides in.

Hello!!

It seems everyone is looking towards the Oliver half. I am looking into doing my first HIM next year and am just wondering why Oliver is better then the desert HIM or Vancouver?

Thanks!
