What are your plans to mix training/Mother's Day??

I'm going to the gym w/ my mom while dh visits w/ his mom and dd.  Then dh, dd and I will go out to eat w/ my mom and her boyfriend after we're done working out. I'm also planning on sleeping in and possibly taking a nap in the afternoon to catch up on some sleep and indulge myself.

My wife has been having contractions all day, so she may be giving birth on Mother's Day.

I know, I know, what am I doing on BT if she is starting to go into labor.

I figure this is the best place to chat with people who understand pain.

Ride my bike a ton of miles, and stay far way from any from any place having a Mother's Day brunch.  Hubby and I refuse to eat out on the day.

Ride 60 miles and call all my mothers (my actual mom is in MI, the rest are all self-proclaimed moms in different states I've lived in). Sad I don't get to see mine but oh well.

Happy Mother's Day to all those BT moms!!

Happy training!

Train with my buddy, vrm719, on that 60 mile ride, eat and re-hydrate, and then call my mom and my sis to wish them both a great day. Cards and gifts have already arrived.

My 5 year old just gave me a spontaneous spa night-she gave me a massage (mostly walked on my back); rubbed my feet/arms/legs with lotion; brushed my hair and painted my toenails.  So lovely.  Tomorrow am-attempt a 90 min. ride before church; Quinn (5 yr old daughter) is making me breakfast, Noah (8 year old son) is making me lunch, then off to my in laws for steak/potatoes with my folks/hubby's folks and his 93 year old spunky grandma.   The men are in charge of everything. The makings for a great day.  Enjoy loving/being loved on moms!

Funny you should ask. One of my struggles is to find something to do with my husband and all three of my children, including a sullen 14 year old daughter, a 12 year old son and a 6 year old son. So tomorrow we're borrowing a bike trailer for my littlest one and we're all going down to a rail trail to do a nice long bike ride to an ice cream store. No one can refuse me because it's all i asked for for Mother's Day.

My mom and grandma are far away but my DH's family is nearby, so we're all having brunch at my monster-in-law's house (we cook of course). I look forward to getting through it without her saying anything nasty to me. Long run later to de-stress.

Is it Memorial Day yet?

We're headed to my family's house for a Mother's Day bash with the relatives. A little BBQ, volleyball, softball and who knows what else. It's a good time. Oh, and my hubby and son got me a bicycle trailer for Mother's Day. Actually, I bought the trailer but got the OK to get it.

my mom is up in duluth and my mother-in-law is in rockford...so they got cards earlier in the week and phone calls today. this morning i woke up to a huge stack of presents. most were boxes ella (almost 4) decorated herself and in them she put some of her favorite things - a dress-up dress, a doll, a bracelet. very sweet. in another box was a new brooks saddle from my husband. we popped it on the single speed and headed off to the bakery for breakfast. bill pulled the girls in the burley and i did a lot of coasting (need to change the gearing i think). saddle is very comfy and its not even broken in yet. now i get to go to the thrift store by myself for an hour or two while bill takes the girls to the park.
