It's getting close....!

(I wonder what the weather gods will bring...?)

Who else is doing this one?

I am in. This winter has really sucked for good conditions for long runs.  This past weekend was particularly suck-tacular - but i've been diligent and feeling pretty ready!  I am having visions of 'the hill' and i'll definitely be putting a few good ones in my last few runs to make sure i am ready for it!

This is such a great race - each year I've done it the weather was mediocre but I always end up enjoying myself.  I'm hoping this 'AtB30k' weather is more run friendly than last weekend.

I'm in this one also....but my training has been lacking so I'm not sure about my 2:45 goal.  I'm still going to plan my pace around that goal but I may fall on my face before the end..lol.

I'm currently training for the Mississauga 1/2, and ATB this year just happens to fall on the same day as my recovery 10K LSD, which would be perfect for a 3-person relay!  Since the race is sold out, I've been trying to find a team of 3 selling their bibs.  No luck yet though.

(shamelessly excited-- by the way-- for my post-race Monday off... AND massage!)

If you do I'd be up for a 10KM leg of the ATB.

Having done this run in the past be prepared for rain.  Oh and the sun will come out once you finish. I loved the course, the hill is a climb but overall not the worst, It is literally flat and downhill from there.  I hope mother nature is kind to you and you have perfect race day temps and no rain!

I will be there!   I used to live in that area for years but this is the first time I will do the 30k race.  I've done the 5km event years ago but I wanted to take my wife to my old stomping grounds and show her the scerny this race brings.  Good luck everyone and enjoy the race.  Have fun!!!

I'm going to go park at Lasalle Park this afternoon and run the course in both direction to get a feel for those rollers.  I haven't trained hills much (at all.lol) for this run...I guess I should I least do it once. Laughing

I saw this movie on the plane today called "Saint Ralph". Its a very cute and hearwarming story set in Hamilton in the 1950's with running being central to the plot. Ralph, the main character, runs and wins the Around the Bay in 1954 - and then goes on to race Boston.  Its a nice motivational way to spend an evening.

Wow, can't believe I've never even heard of this movie and I used to live in the Hammer.  Its not that old of a movie either, I just watched the trailer for it and it looks really good.  Going to download this movie, thanks for the tip!

Ran another part of the course this morning, from Lasalle Park to Dundurn Park which includes "the big hill".  I have to say, I was expecting it to be worse than that....but I was also only 5k into the run when I did it.  Might be a different story hitting it after already running 25k. Surprised

Looks like a cool day is in store for us. I just hope the snow and ice is cleared.

Yeah, looks like it'll be around -6C at the start of the race plus wind factor.  Not sure what I'm going to wear.  Initially I was thinking a long sleeve tech shirt with a tech T on top, but now I'm thinking long sleeve tech with a wind breaker jacket. Tuque and gloves obviously.

Yeppers, she's going to be a bit chilly!  Forgot my toque and gloves, probably pick some up at the Expo this afternoon.  Have a great race everyone and hopefully see some of you out there!

Well, missed my goal by 92 secs, but I'll take the 2:46:32 as a pretty good accomplishment anyways.

How did everyone else race go?
