18 pairs of black pants?! WTF?

I dress fine thank you very much. However, I probably should wear the black pants more and not my workout clothes. I wear them everywhere...dinner, grocery, errands, etc. I've even worn them to work. Its just quicker that way to afternoon workouts.

No, I don't have them!!  I did have them in Elementary school though, I think 1st or 2nd grade.

I can tick off the clothes I own....3 pairs dress pants, 2 pairs of casual khaki (1 of which I've had since high school and still wear them everywhere), 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of cargo pants, 1 pair of Carhartt work pants for all that rugged tractor driving!  Like 10 shirts (3 or 4 dress shirts, the rest are polo type of things), 4 or 5 ties, 2 suits, and about 2,000,000 t shirts! 

I definately won't win any best dressed awards.  It's funny though, you open my closet and there's like 20 hangers and then t-shirts folded up and crammed everywhere.  Oh yeah, and like 3 pairs of shorts, 1 of which are my jams which I love.

My rule of thumb: if you have not worn it for a year, throw it out!

My wife's rule of thumb: I have not worn it in ten years BUT I may wear it again some day.

What about shoes?  Am I a "man freak" if I own too many shoes?  The crazy thing is that I can justify each pair: black dress, brown dress, running, old running (for lounging), Birkenstocks, Chacos, work boots, light hikers, flip-flops, Vans, and cycling shoes (which I really shoudn't count). 

Too many?
