So the update on my twitterpation…. For those of you who care, those of you who are bored, and those of you that just want to make jokes…

I got at text message today that basically said “I need some time to figure things out.” To which I replied “I will give you all the space and time you need” (which to me means, its over, and I won’t contact her unless she contacts me). It wasn’t a long relationship, but it was good to have had the time with someone so much like me. Someone driven, goal oriented, and a good person in so many ways.

I just wanted to vent, and talk it out.

One of the (to me) most true statements I have heard is “sex will ruin a good relationship, and it will prolong a bad one.” Makes me think…

bummer..  i know you were into this girl..  i think the statement IS true..

i'm a bit suprised she ended it by Text message..  sounds cold to me..  the TWO skills that i never learned in my early 20's that i regret not learning..

1) how to breakup with someone..  even though you know it's going to hurt them

2) how to recover from a breakup..

two life skills that DON'T come easy..

we were on a world wind dating, then it happened and the last words she told me face to face (besides "bye have a good day" was "we shouldn't have had sex so soon..."

granted i didnt pressure her, she wanted it...

Oh the days of dating and those brief relationships.  When I was on the breakup end of things I adopted a single word that helps......

NEXT!!

Not meant to be cold, just meant to remind it's her loss and you get a chance to find someone who is GREAT and READY for a relationship.

Happy Hunting.

Oh yeah, as for the sex part...hope you made her scream her own name.

Sorry to hear it - even when it's a short term thing, the sting is still there.

And as cliched as it sounds, when a door closes, a window opens - I recently got dumped via email(!!) and within 24 hours got an email from someone else that I'd not heard from in quite some time and we proceeded to go have a fantastic weekend.  So, you never know.

As far as the "sex too soon" goes, I think it's something that is just easy to blame because it's there, not because it's an actual reason.

The sting will pass and you'll soon find yourself all twitterpated again in no time, with someone even better. :

Oh, come on, Bear! He fell for the girl! Hard! He can be sad for a few days! Now if it goes on for weeks and weeks, we reserve the right to make fun of you.

And for $2 you can go ONCE AROUND THE RIDE before being forced off and have to wait for a new $2 ride to become available.

Okay, now for the serious reply.   When I moved to Phoenix for grad school, from a small Wisconsin town it was definately a culture shock.    The best wisdom I got was from a guy I worked with my first summer in Phoenix....

"The young college girls are only really looking for the bad guy or the next good time.  When you (that would be me) hit about 28, have a good job, stable and all that, that's when you'll find a woman who is looking for you."

OH HOW TRUE that statement came to be.  I was 28 when I met my wife.

Of course I have no clue how old you are so take that as you want.  Until then, though, JIMMY UP and have fun if you want to....and she wants to.
