Try it out at home, where you have some privacy. Do you have a trainer? Jump on it for 30 minutes and you should have your answer.

Define "show."

I'm a man, so my answer is based on "casual empiricism." As with most sports bas and shirts, your nipples will show if they get hard insofar as they'll be standing up and noticeable. It's unlikely that you'll have a "wet t-shirt" look where people really can see your nipples (may be a problem with a really thin bra and shirt)--most sports bras are too thick for this to be an issue.

P.S. Bummer on the no pics thing...

Apparently Jim is a man of more knowledge, talents, and time, than anyone realized!

Is this subject actually something women discuss?  I thought all knowledge related to this (these?)  subject(s) was genetic.

I've always said, and I'll continue saying it.  I loooooove being a guy.  Too much damned work to be a woman.  And the best part of being a guy, is appreciating all the damned work it takes a woman to be.

most sports bras are too thick for this to be an issue. Bill

Actually, the problem is with the nature of white material - bumps/etc appear more prominent than with darker materials. So, even if the darker tissue doesn't show through, the apex appears quite prominently. With a dark blue or black sports bra, it isn't as noticeable.

It's the same principle as men wearing white bike shorts vs black bike shorts. The thickness of both materials is the same but the white allows for more contour visibility.

Fair enough, but the bra + shirt combo should take care of that.

It doesn't. White on white doesn't work. That's why she posed the question.

Not being a woman, I will defer somewhat. That said, based on what I've...umm..."observed" at spin classes, the white bra/white shirt combo is not problematic.

Not sure if it applies to bras (need a lot more observations!), but from the bike shorts pictures I've seen, red is even worse in the, uh, "contour visibility" department.

Not all nipples look alike; some are much more prominent or darker than others. The white bra/white shirt combo is probably the worst for minimizing 'show-through'. A nude (beige) bra is far better, almost perfectly eliminating show-through. Contouring is another matter.

I've worn white blouses with my suits for years; I've tried many, many different bras to minimize this issue. I finally found a bra that blocks nipple visibility and apex/contours. The Victoria Secrets Ipex bra. Worth every penny.

whoa.  I don't mind the contours too much, it's the darkness that worries me.

damn. 1 hour run cut to 35 minutes.  I need to plan more carefully.  I'm out for a few hours.

I'll be back to search for the aforementioned bib pic of Possum.

What?! We all have nipples and I'm speaking generally. I assume all men know all women have nipples. Yes?

I have only one stalker, not stalkers.

I guess you could make the argument that the some stalkers wouldn't necessarily let the stalkees know they were being stalked.

Whatever you do please do not wear a white shirt/bra with bandaids applied to your nipples in an attempt to mask them from public view. The event hadn't even begun and the bandaids were already visible! I saw this at one of my recent races and it looked much more rediculous than show-through-nipples could possibly manage.
