I have gotten to the point that diet soda doesn't bother me so much, but I really love regular soda - to a fault. I'm almost certain I got fat from consuming too much of it. So I'm in hog heaven now with this Coke Zero.

I'm ChuckyFinster, and I'm a coke-aholic....

I love diet coke, but can't stand even a sip of regular coke, so CZ does nothing for me.

I usually drink Diet Coke and I tried the Coke Zero.  Just like the cannibal said after he ate the clown though, "I think it tastes funny."

Seriously...I see the ads for this and I wonder..."Is there a difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke?" Between Budweiser and Budweiser Select? Between Miller and Miller Genuine Draft?

Did I miss the ad that explains why Joe Soda drinker will like Coke Zero even though he/she hates Diet Coke? Is there a major difference in ingredients?

Agreed.  But, I'm a diet soda junkie (I refuse to drink my calories unless they are of the adult beverage variety).  Hubby drinks regular coke, he doesn't like it either. I bet it doesn't stick around long, they haven't done a good job marketing it (at least here) so no one knows what the real difference is.

It took me years to finally get used to diet drinks. I am now a fan of diet cherry pepsi. Just my 2 cents.

I read in Consumer Reports (My Bible, so-to-speak) that Coke Zero is marketed toward MEN who don't want to be seen drinking anything with the word "DIET" on the side of the can. I guess they think it immasculates them???

I haven't tried it, but I have tried the Diet Coke with Splenda and found that the aftertaste dies after the second sip. The people that tested Coke Zero and Diet Coke with Splenda found it preferable over the rest...

My girlfriend's nutrition professor said there is no difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke. I havent tried them in comparison because I stopped drinking soda a few months back, so I dont really have my own opinion on it.

Umm.. had it once when it first came out. Don't really remember what it tasted like. Since bf is a "diet pepsi" fan, our fridge is dominated by pepsi product. Every time we go overseas, he always bring back foreign diet pepsi. Somehow the foreign stuff tastes better (sweeter, less aftertaste) than domestic ones.
