off to the pool.  750 yards on my schedule then a 15 mile bike.  It's going to rain so that will probably be on the trainer later today.  I'm following an 18 week plan that I've had for a while for my Oly in August.  The sprints along the way will just be nice training days.

ok gang, up and at it!

Good morning! I'm getting on the treadmill for a run, then off to work. Mondays are the pits.

Rest Day for me too. Taking my car to my brothers garage for a tune up. Since I'm not a real client that means I wait all day till he can get to it, but at least we get a chance to visit.

40 min run this morning, long pool workout tonight.

Great cool, clear morning here - about 58 degrees, perfect for a run.

Great training weekend.
Friday: 4.5 mile run.
Saturday: 15 mile ride.
Sunday: FIRST BRICK EVER - 13 mile ride followed by 5 mile run in 1 hour 40 minutes. Surprisingly I feel really good today. I am completely psyched that I was able to complete the brick. Feeling good about my chances.

Tonight I will run if the weather cooperates. Otherwise I will make this my rest day for the week.

"don't tell me,... I got nothin' t'do"

Make it a good day!

It's Pilates and circuit training/weights tonight. I've already got to get my new bike adjusted! I just got it on Saturday. The front derailleur was skipping #@$%! My first ride on my sleek new steed and I couldn't get it to go into the small chain ring, then the chain came off. I know that I'm a newbie, but come on, I wasn't torturing the poor thing.

Kat,
Don't worry new bikes usually need an adjustment or two. It wasn't you.

Was too tired to get out of bed this morning so I guess I'm starting my master swimming class on Wednesday. Finally, a break in the weather. Getting the bike out of the garage and taking it to the shop to get fitted and ready for me. Found some trails and I plan on hitting the road about three times this week. swim, run later. Have a good training day all! Ovetta.

Did my killer aerobics class this morning. We really worked our legs today. I've been asked why I do aerobics instead of "training" with that time. Well this is a cardio combo class that includes step aerobics, running, weights, intervals, and pilates. I have found that since starting it my legs feel better after a run, I'm more "bouncy" (must be the three and threes where we run up the gym one-two-three and then jump up and down in the air). I think it is an important PART of my training.

Anyhow, this afternoon is a 17 min run. IT's my "back off" week. I had planned to ride a bike to work but I'm sick today...terrible sore throat and can barely talk. Physically I feel okay from the shoulders down, but my throat is SCREAMING and I have to teach all day tomorrow and tomorrow night, so today I'm resting my throat.

Going to a hockey game tonight. My first time! Can't wait! I was a little disappointed that we HAD planned to run and bike a "short brick" around Greenlake and then go to a movie, but that's okay. Our "local" team is in the playoffs and this might be their last game.

back from the gym now did a indoor circuit (actually i gues it counts as a brick.....does it???) 1500m row - 4 mile bike - 1 mile run - 4 min stepper (2min rest) 1000m row - 1 mile run - 4 mile bike - 2 min step. Also had a big stretch to try and sort my knee out, feels better but i am thinking about it all the time as i have a race on sunday, and so i think, that i am thinking! that it is worse than it is.....i will ice pack it when i get home...stupid legs!!!

1000m swim this morning, followed by a 3 mile run/walk. I ate a small breakfast before the gym this morning and it really seemed to help get me all the way through the workout. Still have to take two 1/4 mile walk breaks during the run but my pace while running has picked up to 6.5mph. Rode my bike to work today, round trip is about 10 miles, so all in all it will turn out to be a great training day.

I'm back from a mini-weekend vacation. Yesterday I had my wife drop me off in Lincoln NH. She headed on the North Conway for some shopping, while I rode my bike the 45 miles across the Kancamagus Highway, climbing nearly 2,000 feet in elevation. Swam in the motel pool yesterday and this morning. Treated myself to a new pair of sunglasses for cycling. A great weekend all around!! Now it's back to work.

Hey Max,
Kancamangus WOW! What a ride. I can't imagine biking that! Is there still snow on the sides?

It must have been a leg burner but at least it is a beautiful view.

We are headed to NH next weekend to open the cottage.

There's just a bit up at the higher elevations Stacey, a few small piles on the roadside. Down lower, the woods are snow free. It was a fun ride, I actually like climbing the Kanc, and the traffic was pretty light for a Sunday. At one point on the way up, not a car went by me for 15 minutes! Would have been a quicker ride down the other side except for a bit of an eastern head wind, but I still got it up to 45 mph on the descent.

Tory, I hope you feel better. Maybe some zinc lozenges would help you keep from getting fully sick. I swear by them.

Good luck!
