Event comments:

Good first tri. A bit wary of changes to course day before the race and poor marking of the course the day before the race when I wanted to reconnoiter. After finishing, I was a bit confused about where to go or what to do. Would be very good race if I'd lived in the area and had been able to participate in swims and rides in the weeks leading up to the race and had known a bit more what to expect, or if I'd had a friend along who had done this race before. Always good to see United Athletes and support for them.

I am not suggesting that I have turned into Aquaman or have grown gills or that I am a really great swimmer. I am none of those. But I have learned to love the swim.

I had been very fit until I turned the legal age for the two demons: drinking and smoking. Unfortunately, from my 18th birthday, my once fit swimmer's body went downhill and wide very fast.
