Good morning, buckle up is a good way to state it.

Weights scheduled for lunch and then 45 minute trainer ride scheduled for PM.

Have a great day!

I had two surprises waiting for me when I woke up. The first was that my back was killing me. The other was the result of the election. You can draw your own conclusions about the merits of the surprises.

11:40 - 1450 yard swim. Backstroke focused, which was nice. Probably need to pop some more ibuprofen this afternoon, though.

Have a great day!

First election ever where multiple people have gone home sick from work--we got the final results at about 1 PM local time. Quite a few of our US ex-pat families are mixed-race; I think they have serious concerns (justified or not) about their safety and their children's in the new political climate. I used a game Tuesday to teach my kids how the electoral system works, so we tracked results online and colored in a map.

It was not a surprise, really. I predicted it from the exit poll that I heard at 7 AM here--they were asking people what was the main factor they considered when making their choice and 66% said change, 22% (I think) said experience. Pretty much figured out what was going to happen. There was actually someone on CNN last night (head of one of the Senate committees--I think Intelligence or Armed Forces) who said the same thing.

As for training, 50 minutes of running with some stride drills; after work 20 minutes of run strength stuff--sounds easy but quite nasty. It kept making me cramp. Had a headache all day and I still have it today. Maybe something really is going around at work, and it isn't just a "political illness".
