Total Time = 3h 39m 52s
Overall Rank = 379/1377
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 7/70
Pre-race routine:

3 days prior: 300-450g carb loading-mainly good carbs (last day no worry about weight gain--hit 420g/2600 cals), had my good luck McDonald's chocolate shake on the drive to GB, potassium/magnesium/zinc load

Race Day: Up 3 hours before race-coffee,read "Running Within" key pages, toast/honey 2 hours before race, warm-up with PT exercises before leaving hotel-tested outfit and legs, stretched anything tight. Felt great, no worries.
Event warmup:

Nothing at race location. Stayed inside Lambeau field to avoid cold temps and 15-25mph winds. Wanted to be as warm as possible at the start.

Comments:

Run of my life--went in with 8:35 goal pace knowing my BQ was 8:48 (3:50). Felt good from the beginning settling in at an 8:25ish pace. Knew by 10m I would make the BQ, but did not push. Big winds, especially around 15-20m on lake path kept me conservative. Lost a few seconds per mile here. Let it go last 10K while being mindful not to push too hard. Passed many people along the way. I have been in there position many times myself. Last mile through Lambeau field was the push--some guy tried to beat me at the line, no way.

Carried Fuel Belt and drank according to plan, finishing 7 8oz Infinit, 1 8oz carb-pro through 23m. Took 1 endurolyte before bed/pre/every hour. Strategy worked. Total calorie intake 560. This cal intake lower than last marathon, but had zero GI issues so it was right for temps.

My #1 fan, Paul (my husband) was the primary reason for my success. He rode his bike in freezing temps in shorts/no gloves to get me fuel along the way. Kudos also go to my coach Lowell and my drink Infinit. The trifecta for success.

With the Boston goal met after three years of trying, I need some knew ones to keep me motivated. My running focus will be the half to improve speed through the fall, but it is time to get serious about the bike and the swim this summer. So much to learn....
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Not alot--walked around finish area, ice bath once at the hotel, no food for 90 minutes after finish which helped a lot no GI issues this time. Missed glycogen loading window, but so what??

Ate normal (ok not normal-chicken sandwhich with bacon and cheese with a few fries) lunch 2 hours post race.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing.

Event comments:

Green Bay did a great job supporting this race--plenty of volunteers and good traffic control and course marking. Sparse fans in many areas, but the ones that were out were great.

Course: Combination of neighborhoods, small downtown area and paved path around Fox River, mainly flat with a few small hills (speed bumps?) which help the legs. I never felt the crowd, all areas were plenty wide for passing.
