If you get a word, spell it better than you did "tattoo".  :D

Have you been or do you plan on doing more?  I only have one under my belt and it was a nice ride and all, but not really a life changing event or anything like that.  Maybe if it is two big snakes down the entire back or something like that, sure.

Dammit, Derek beat me to the "learn to spell tattoo first" joke.

I like the winged foot! Good suggestion. Its an appropriate pic and Austin is your first.

Everyone's a critic. It has been well established over a couple years on this site that I cannot spell worth a damn. You are just the next in a long list of critics who try to make themselves look witty by pointing out my errors. Is it my fault I was born in the west texas sun? That I am the son of poor farmers who couldn't spell dictionary, much less afford one? That I had to drop out in the 8th grade to tend cotton? That I was once tied to a post and beaten regularly for 3 days and almost died?

Why does everyone pick on me?

If that's how you commemorate things, go ahead. I'm sure less remarkable accomplishments have resulted in a tattoo. And the mis-spelling will give it character. Wink

I thought my first marathon WAS life-changing, probably my proudest accomplishment after my marriage and my kids. I didn't get a tattoo, though, as I would never deface my bodily perfection  am not a tattoo person.

Well my marathon was life changing. I say go for it if you think so too. Heh, see how you feel after, you might not want to do another one.

I love mine.

Thomas, I'm thinking about getting a tatt also. My marathon, I expect, will be a HUGE life changing event and I want to commemorate it. I was thinking of something simple like Haley's tatt on her foot, but was thinking of putting it high on the outside of my thigh (don't want a tatt that's visible when normally clothed). I like the "26.2" idea but am still looking for something that is more symbolic.

Mine is pretty easy to hide. Its not hard to find shoes that cover it up and ones that don't (when I want it to show). My heels I'm wearing today show it off nicely, the strap goes right underneath it. I'm quite proud.

I like the winged foot, Renee that would look cute on your thigh/hip. Can I watch...

I like the idea of having it on my foot but I also do not want it to show at all if I'm wearing slingbacks or pumps or strappy heels - I don't want it visible when I'm visiting a client.

I like the winged foot but that symbol says to me "Marathon Runner" whereas the 26.2 is more of an accomplishment (in my mind). I won't call myself a marathon runner unless it's something I do again and again but the 26.2 is something I can claim once I've done it. Dont' know if you're 'getting' my distinction there...

My pa killed my dog Pooche when I was 4. He he got drunk from shine and thought the pup might have some silver fillings. I had written a note saying that the dog had fleas but he read it as fillings and I've never been able to spell since that day.

The fact that the dog had never been to the dentist didn't occured to him.

They'll wear out/fade/blur too fast down there.
