Haven't seen a good news thread in a while...

1) Enjoyed a long weekend a few hours away, in a rental cabin.

2) Celebrated my day of birth with "home" cooked food!

3) Watched Dave kick butt at 88 miles of suffering/7 hours on the bike.

4) Went to 34 week check-up. Belly measured right at 34 cm (as it should) and baby is heads down!

5) Finally got brakes fixed on car and it was MUCH less than I was bracing for!

Whats up with you?

Sounds like some great news there!

Long training days this weekend is all. It's good to be alive.

Couldn't be happier for you Lisa and Dave.

Saturday was one of the best days of my life.  Ran the Seattle Rock n Roll marathon (my 10th marathon) with my daughter and her fiance, my son and his girlfriend while my brother and wife ran the half.  It was a beautiful day and we had a blast.  We stayed downtown and took the monorail to and from the race.  Went to the Mariners game together in the evening.

I got myself a nice raise on Wednesday. Thursday the company announced a wage freeze. Thankful my boss pushed my raise through before the freeze.

* Got the 12-year-old's final grades for the school year -- straight A's with a "want to add a +" on one of them.

* Had a great weekend last week in Leavenworth, and a brutal 88 mile gravel road ride.

* The weather has finally turned to sunny and REALLY warm.

* Did the 5-Mile Lake Tri yesterday in the "retro" division (no wetsuits, no aero gear). Won that, and would have also won my AG.

This Intermediate 20 week plan is a quick ramp up in overall volume, but with 20 weeks to train only, it is a gradual and safe approach because of the alternating weeks of the long run/bike.
