Sorry about the bike accident, but congrats on getting back out there and putting down a good race!

Do you feel like you're coming back up to where you were before the wreck?  I'm always curious to hear how people approach getting back on the horse, as it were.

I was on the bike trainer a week after the accident, started doing the eliptical about 3 weeks after that and started running and swimming again 8 weeks after the accident.  I'm still only about 13-14 weeks out from the accident.  I lost a LOT of run and swim fitness which will take most of the off season to get back.  As my wife said, "you've had your off season, time to start training".  She's a good coach. 

I have yet to do another bike race and probably won't till next season.  Went of my first group ride a few weekends ago and had to make certain I wasn't too skitchy, which I started out a little in the beginning, but by the end I was fine.  THAT was the thing I was most worried about.  I'll be doing many more group rides over the off season to get comfortable in a pack again.  And I will definitely be doing cycle races again next year.  They make me a better triathlete (as long as I stay upright.  )

Long story short, I'm not starting at the very beginning as it relates to base endurance.  But I'm not even close to where I want to be. 

Absolutely.  I have to kill him again next year AND do better on the same course.  Shooting for sub 1:15 next year.
