Subject: IM lLive texts?
Anyone know if and how you sign up to have texts sent as you pass over timing mats on IM day?

A friend did it following me last year and a couple friends have been asking about it this year.

At the Expo before the race Ford has computers set up where you can enter a brief message - all you need is the bib# of the athelete. Not sure if it can be done offsite (via the web) or not. It was pretty cool to see a message from my wife at mile 18 or so on the run at LP.

Yah not that....

It is something you do on line and they send a text message to the phone number you register as you go over timing mats..so they get a text with your swim split, bike splits as you go, run splits. It helps friends and family not at the race follow your progress throughout the day.

That sounds like the ironmanlive athlete tracking info but I didn't know you could get it auto-texted. I know IM Canada had athlete tracking pages available last year, though with the big single loop course there are fewer mid-way chip mat crossings than some other races I've looked at. I'd also be very interested in hearing about a texting signup option.

It is usually an outside vendor....I had it for some marathons, but don't know about Louisville
