Hey, y'all!

It's your happy cap'n here. Let's all work together and have an awesome challenge. Feel free to use this thread to chime in, tell us what's going on, and encourage each other.

Don't forget to log your minutes! I can't count 'em, if I can't find 'em.

I'm really looking forward to a great month with you all - I'm doing my VERY FIRST tri at the end of this month!!!

Kristen

Oh, and I guess peeking at all the other colors' threads, I'm supposed to remind you of the rules... (I just pretend to know what I'm doing, after all.)

And to get the "rules" out there so we are all on the same page.

The Challenge "Rules":

1. Must show your training in the logs publicly
2. Monday through Sunday is the 'week'. 1st week is March 1-4th, then 5th-11th, 12th-18th, 19th-25th and 26th-April 1st.
3. Plan for illnesses and or slight injury in your goals. I would like to offer;
* that a double sickness, injury or sickness+injury is ok to drop a team member
* A prolonged illness (e.g. flu) or serious injury too
* No drops in the last week of the challenge
* Can change your Goals up to Wednesday 3/7
4. No log input after 2 full weeks (a team member may be dropped as long as several attempts (PM) are made to contact them.
5. Time (min/hr) and or Distance (miles/km) for goals. You can mix them , e.g. Swim/Run = time and Bike = miles or vise versa.
6. Metric distances will be converted to Miles/ yards on the spreadsheet
7. Compiled weekly results will be posted ~ Tuesday afternoons.
8. Train safe...
9. Smack talk is encouraged...

Thanks for heading this up Kristen!

Not going to procrastinate this month.  Weather has been horrendous here (lots & lots o' snow), but dug in (actually that would be dug out!) this morning and went to the gym anyways.  46 min out of 1100 min...somehow that doesn't seem like it made a dent, but hopefully it should at month's end.

Go Green...we are a mean, green, fightin machine...

Kristen,

Thanks for ponying up and being our captain. After slacking a bit in Dec/Jan, I'm coming off a good February, so I'm looking to go with the momentum.

This sure looks like an exciting month for you!. I have my first tri of this year scheduled for 3/17.

Not a good start to the month - went to the gym after work and they had closed "due to the weather"!!! I can't believe they closed because we had some freezing rain. They were open all weekend during our 30 inches of snow blizzard!

How's everyone's weekend going? March is coming in like a lamb here - I'm switching my run/swim days to enjoy the beautifulness that is going on today - hoping to get on a 6 mile run later this morning or afternoon...will swim/bike tomorrow when it's supposed to be chillier and rainy. (Sorry to all of you buried in snow - I'm not gloating, really! )

Mines coming in pretty good cap.  I got a nice 4 mile run in yesterday with a hour spin class today with some weights.  I'll pick up the swimming next week.  Kinda sore from lifting.

I'm on track too. Just getting ready in a few minutes to get on the trainer, for 4.5 hrs. I was going to ride outside but it is clouding up fast and the wind is blowing like a million miles an hour. So it is trainer time. Good thing I recorded the Tour of California last week and have a few movies to watch. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Right on, go Green!

I was able to get in a make-up trainer session (missed on Thursday) and a planned run in 40F weather!

Tomorrow is a planned swim and bike. If it's as nice tomorrow, I'll break out the MTB and ride outdoors, the trainer is making me mental.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good job guys for the first 4 days.  Lets pick it up and blow past everyone.  My week will be 100%.  I need to get some motivation to get back into the pool again.  Haven't swam for about 2 1/2 weeks now.  Been focusing on the running and "biking" (trainer right now)

Ugh, I strained/pulled a lower back muscle. Yesterday was an unplanned rest day and today may be a well. This puts me a bit behind, but I'm still on track to make my goals assuming I'm doing well by Sat.

Yup, I got one of them - see attached.

The figure is what you are supposed to have logged by the end of the week (cumulative) if you have an evenly spread-out workout plan. Does that make any sense?

Thanks for the well-wishes. I should be OK tomorrow.

As far as the spreadsheet, don't look at mine either Next week should be a big week for me as my wife is taking the kids out of town for spring break. I've lost all of my "fluff" this week, so I can't get behind any more.

We're all wishing you a full recovery...

I've got the opposite situation.  It's not spring break this week for us, so my wife's taking the opportunity to visit with her parents and few siblings this weekend WITHOUT the kids.  I'll be Mr. Mom this week--cooking (heh, not really--stack of frozen pizzas and Banquet microwave meals--not real healthy, but CONVENIENT!), driving kids to soccer, parent teacher conferences...
