What would you do differently?: n/a Post race
Warm down: Ran about 1.5 miles easy Event comments: Good race - started out easy - didn't know the course - turned uphill quickly - eased into the first hill and let about 50 people go - then on the down hill, started to pick them off. On the uphill I was moving well again - hit the turn around and had two guys hanging on my shoulder. Worked semi-hard on the last hill to drop them and catch the chica in front of me - then hit the last downhill conservatively as I didn't know the finish was coming up. I caught the girl and two guys went by me with about 400m to go. I stayed steady with my effort and with about 200m to go I ran hard enough to pass those two guys back and drop the girl who had come back to my shoulder on the downhill. Good effort - I don't think it was A+ type of effort but a B- is about right. My legs and turnover felt good, my lungs seemed ok and pacing and strategy was good. I would like to run better than 19:50 one of these days, as that's all I am doing right now. I got in about 1:15+ of running today. Last updated: 2006-01-14 12:00 AM
