Event comments:

Good race - started out easy - didn't know the course - turned uphill quickly - eased into the first hill and let about 50 people go - then on the down hill, started to pick them off. On the uphill I was moving well again - hit the turn around and had two guys hanging on my shoulder. Worked semi-hard on the last hill to drop them and catch the chica in front of me - then hit the last downhill conservatively as I didn't know the finish was coming up. I caught the girl and two guys went by me with about 400m to go. I stayed steady with my effort and with about 200m to go I ran hard enough to pass those two guys back and drop the girl who had come back to my shoulder on the downhill. Good effort - I don't think it was A+ type of effort but a B- is about right. My legs and turnover felt good, my lungs seemed ok and pacing and strategy was good. I would like to run better than 19:50 one of these days, as that's all I am doing right now. I got in about 1:15+ of running today.

Find a flat course and you can get that time down.

Good run, congrats on yet another sub 20.

Nice race time!!  And didya know that January is Nat'l Oatmeal Month...no joke, I saw it on the Quaker Oats website this morning (while eating my oats and contemplating where the fat in oats came from -- it's in the oat bran germ).

Wow - I just found these posts! Thanks everyone. Long way to go - my PR is sub 17:00 and right at 18:00 at Altitude so no need to conratulate me yet

My goal is to get down to 18:00 by Spring. Right now, I am just using the races as an excuse to endure some pain, that's it!
