Subject: 7.24.16 Sunday Funday!

Good morning BT!

Heading out for a brick workout today.  I'm going to drive even a little farther west to check out another possible area for mountain biking.  Hoping to ride for about 2 hours and then do a 20-30 minute run out there as well.  

Sending good race vibes to our racers today!

This morning our tri club had a practice triathlon. We started out with a 20 minute swim in Lake Michigan, which was very calm this morning. After that we did about 10 miles on the bike and then 3 miles of running. It was very hot and humid today (as it was the last several days), so during the run I would run a half mile and then walk a minute.

Later on I will do my 2 minute plank and then the 22 pushups. I'm going to go out and get all sweated up again and try to get some yard work done before that though.

did 22.5 mile on the new tri bike this morning. Getting the saddle dialed in has been a chore and painful its getting better though. I'm so much faster on this bike it's stupid. I'm averaging 3.5-5 mph faster. Crazy!

Race day for me. Posted my race report (check it out if you're really interested). Goal was to get through the race, have fun, and just see where things are. Swim was slow, bike was a PR effort (but still comparatively slow), but I killed the run. I ended up 3rd in my AG! That was a shocker.

5:16:42, second in AG at IM Calgary 70.3. Perfect weather but good Lord is that ever a brutal bike course. My legs are dead!

Congrats!

Me, I ran the "Pints to Pasta" half marathon in Portland.  Finished in 1:51:12 which was good enough for 5th place in my AG. It was a beautiful sunny morning and I enjoyed the urban course.
