Comments: Nice swim What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Took my time here, very long run out of transition and into What would you do differently?: Nothing besides get more sunscreen Bike
Comments: Overall pretty happy with my performance. Never having raced a WTC event I was quite shocked at the amount of pelotons that came by, but I was racing myself so didn't let that bother me. I had a group pass me just before Chickamauga that seemed like a hundred of so riders. It was actually comical. Paced pretty well but at mile 54 my chain popped off and had to dismount and work with it for several minutes. What would you do differently?: Not have my chain pop off? Transition 2
Comments: Took my time here again. Really tried to clean up my hands after having to deal with chain troubles. Grabbed what I needed and headed out. Run
Comments: Pretty nice run course, there are some short burst hills, and one that just zapped me about mile 5 and then you get to do it again :( What would you do differently?: started out a little slower. I tried to divide into 3 segments of 2 five milers and then a 5K. Figured I would assess how I felt after 5 miles and decided what to do from there. It was evident that I was not going to be able to go any harder and really just needed to hold on. Averaged about 9:45's for the first half and closer to 11:00's for the last half. Not terrible at all but could not take in much nutrition. Have to get that figured out before CdA Post race
Warm down: Got a bottle of water, found family, and picked up bike out of transition. Walked back to hotel, loaded the van and left to go meet friends for lunch. Actually felt pretty decent, stomach was not as bad as it has been after much shorter races. What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight Event comments: Having been my first WTC event, I was impressed with the organization, safety, and support. You definitely pay for it but you have to pay for quality in many things. Last updated: 2016-12-27 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3:30am. Had stayed right downtown at the Hilton Garden Inn. Really a great location as it was about 2 blocks to transition. Great for family as well to get back in between times. Had a clif bar, cup of coffee, and a honey stinger waffle. Did my business in the room and headed to transition. Was done in transition by 4:45am and headed to the buses. Got to the swim start about 5:10am and waited, and waited, and waited. Given what I had heard I thought you were seeded by arrival time but they just allowed anyone/everyone to self seed upon arrival. Knowing this I would have probably stayed back in the room a while longer and relaxed versus sitting on the asphalt for an hour and a half at the swim start.
No warmup other than the walk down the ramp to jump in.
