For those of you who don't know me, I've been a pro for almost 10 years now, and I love sharing my passion for triathlon through videos. We just put out a new Transition Four video, and I'm pretty excited about it. There's a river spot near where I grew up that I've been wanting to swim for several years, and I sort of got sick of waiting for "the right time" to go try it out and film it. Oh wow, if you're up in Alberta, I bet you're having to drill a hole 3/4 of the year if you want to swim outside haha I found the hardest part to be my face and hands.. I also used some short training fins that allowed me to work harder for more body heat. 1940 , Kronobergs lan | Subject: RE: Swimming in 46F water in January - video Brrr, that's cold. Swam last fall in what was about 53 degres water. I had wetsuit, double swim cap, booties and gloves. After the initial shock to the face I swam for about 10 minutes quite comfortably until I started to get cold. Stayed another 5 minutes and gave up. Could not move my hands when I got out.
