Subject: RE: Kids and sprintsThe biggest thing is that endurance training puts a lot of stress on growing bones, muscles and immune systems. However, I've heard quite a few stories of kids who are successful at it. On this site gocorey (sp?) is 18 I think, and has been doing it for a while, he might have some better answers for you. I would think sprint distance would be ok. A lot of races have age limits though, so be prepared for that. Or, an adult might have to race with the child to make it ok. |
