The last couple weeks I keep getting flats on my bike trainer, I can't see anything puncturing the tube, just little pin holes. I have got new tires (i don't use trainer tires), different tubes, but I have been getting flats almost weekly with no outside riding. Is it possible that my POS $80 mag trainer is causing this? Maybe the heat on the tire? Too much pressure from the trainer on the tire? I am not ready to expend the big bucks on a "good trainer" (I ride a 2012 trek 1.1) but I probably would give the travel trac fluid a try.

Are the flats always in the same place? You may want to check your tire. I had one that had pointy spots and if the rim tape wasn't just right, it would puncture. The trainer seems to be an improbable cause.

I get a flat usually about 2 to 3 times a year on my trainer. I get maybe 1 or 2 out on the road. The last flat I got was due to the spoke hole pushing out. I think the biggest thing about an indoor trainer is that the tire can get really hot. For my tire the pressure has to be at 98. Any higher and something will blow.

I went to the LBS and got me a new tube, rim tape, tire liner (which after seen the install videos I might skip using) and a new pressure gage in cause the one in my pump is not working, wish me luck.

And another flat...i believe the tire liner rubbed the tube, this is testing my patience. I guess i might take the wheel to the LBS to get it checked, i am out of ideas.

I have had the same problem as you. Absolutely no reason why I should of been getting a puncture, going by what usually causes it, yet I was getting them nearly every time I rode the trainer. I also have a cheaper mag, but have made a few changes and it has worked so far (touch wood) with no issues, including working at high intensity and doing FTP test.

I run my PSI at 80 and no higher and did also get a trainer tyre. I also get a trainer specific skewer as it puts the wheel in a better, central position, and I think that was the main difference.

Hope you get it sorted as very annoying.
