Subject: Gatorade Endurance Formula?
Hey!

Where can I buy this stuff?  I'm planning on a US shopping day maybe next week - what stores will carry it?  (I've looked at Meijer/Target/Wal-Mart/etc.  Do I have to go to a specialty store?  Do the chains like GNC carry it?

I want to train with it before Steelhead.

Thanks so much!!
Stef

Target (around here) used to carry it in the liquid form but hasn't for some time now. I think I bought powder from performance in the past.

I just bought some at REI.  Check the Gatorade website as well, but call the store before you go.  My Performance Bike shop is listed as a Gatorade Endurance dealer, but does not carry it.

I bought a bunch of the one-quart envelopes at half list from Gatorade's site:

Looks like they might be out-of-stock right now though.  No idea on the wait.

Thanks! I'll contact the REI close to me.  I have been reluctant to have stuff shipped - brokerage fees are always a concern...

I have heard good things about Performance though - maybe I should just bite the bullet and have it shipped...

Thanks everyone!

I've found the powder form at Fleet Feet.  I used to be able to find 24 ounce bottles at BJ's.  But I havent seen it this year.

I've had a hard time finding this stuff in the past. Some locations of the same store (Acme, SuperFresh, Wegmans) carry it and some don't. Philly Marathon uses it and it's a pain to train with when you can't find it. I checked their website, then called the retailer before driving over. Of course, some of the people who work in grocry stores are not too swift so the phone calls became frustrating at times.

You should check out bulk maltodextrin as a substitute for liquid calories.

50lbs for $57 shipped from Honeyville online. Over 10x cheaper than Gatorade endurance.

1 cup in 1 water bottle (22-25oz) = 300-400 cals.

Nearly flavoreless, mixes well with any flavoring you want, including Gatorade. Super hi absorption (one of the highest) and is a complex sugar. It's the main ingredient in most gels and Hammer products (perpetuem). Dissolves easily at the above concentration.

I just add a bit of sugar or sweet n low for a slightly sweet taste, and I'm good to go for hours, even without solids. You will need a salt tabs for electrolytes after 3 hrs, but even with that factored in, it's waayyy cheaper than Gatorade or other sports drinks.

Thanks! The only reason I'm looking for it is that it's what will be on the course at Steelhead - so that's what I want to train with.  I've been using Accelerade up until now - but I want to make sure that it sits okay with me...

BTW - I called REI (thanks for the info!) and another option (since they showed 2 in stock but couldn't find them) is to order it and have it shipped to the store (free).  Plus - I guess it's member appreciation next Sunday - so two birds one stone!

Thanks again everyone!
