Any thoughts on this model as a 1st bike computer?  Mainly I'd like to track cadence, speed, and overall distance.  It is also available not wireless for about $15 less.

I have the wireless that doesn't have the cadence sensor. Love it, definatly would buy again!

I have the cateye V2C wireless.  Absolutely love it. Installation manual is a bit difficult to read, but once it's set up it's great.

I just got the Double Wireless speed/cadence and love it.  The clean look of the wireless setup alone is worth its cost.

No problems with cross-talk either thus far.  The unit puts itself in a sleep mode after a predetermined time of inactivity (I think it's around 30 minutes).

Thanks for the advice!  I decided to get the wired version (b/c upon closer review, the wireless did not do cadence), but the LBS was out of stock, so I got the Cat Eye Astrale model.  I get the impression that it is basically the older version of the Strada, b/c it doesn't seem to have any differences in features.

I'm not mechanically inclined, so it took me about an hour to install, but I used it last night and it works great.  It is pretty simple to use too.

I've already learned that my cadence isn't as high as I thought, and I'm not going as fast as I thought either (well, I already figured that out in my first race a few weeks ago).  But, knowing is half the battle.  Now I can better work on my cadence and speed since I can see what is really going on!

Have the wireless with cadence (well worth the upgrade) and my only problem is when the contact points on the main unit get wet. My cadence or spead stop working and it took a lot of trial and error to figure out this was the problem. I went through several batteries, taking on and off every part etc. It was the contact points of the unit you remove. Just a little easy abrasive does the trick.

I had the same issue with my Strada Wireless when I had it mounted on my stem. When I was in the aerobars my sweat dripped on it and it would quit working. I got one of those things to mount the coumputer on the aero bars out of the way of theflow of sweat. It works great now.

Really like my Strada Wireless (had 2 Astrale 8's before this and they were very good, but love wireless). The only prob I run into is when I ride with my reg Sat am crowd I will show a max speed of 65.9 mph, so maybe it's a cross-talk issue..... or maybe i'm just that fast now.
