I would probably need a break by then anyway..........and a good excuse (yeah, I was on 3:10 pace before that stupid train got in the way). Just kidding. I hope these runners got there money back or at least a free entry for next year.

I dunno, I'm thinking that a level grade crossing in the middle of a race course that will be in use for 5 hours or so indicates poor route planning. Was there nowhere that the race could have passed under or over the traintracks?

Back when the ATC (that's Atlanta Track Club) put on the Marathon out in the Virginia Highlands area of town (that's eastside) there was a point where it crossed RR tracks and if I am not mistaken held up the elite's one year.....talk about an OUCH!

The article cites "poor communication" between the RR and the race organizers. The way it's worded and the actions of the RD would seem to indicate someone at the RR dropped the ball.
