feel free to join me, just don't "out-whine" me!

had the injection in my knee on wednesday and felt pretty good later that day. Then yesterday I had to walk all over creation and it was difficult to say the least. The commuter parking lot at my school is no less than a half mile from my first class, and I have to zig zag all over this huge campus during the day. I came home and went to bed, I was whipped.

Today my knee feels the worst it has since the injection. It dawns on me that I haven't iced or taken any anti-inflammatories. So that's what I have been doing all day, and most of you are at WORK!! What is up with that? How come there is almost nobody around to hang out with me and listen to me whine!!??

ok, I am done whining. For now.

Hang in there! Had I seen a post like this on Wednesday- I would have outwhined you about work... but it's past now- i took out the majority of my frustrations at the pool.

It's okay to whine..... hopefully somebody got to listen and comfort you! Hope you're feeling better now.

see? you guys are exactly what I needed! LOL (That and the chicken soup my husband made)

Milly, please join me and whine away here, don't hold back!

Dana, I call my son Muffin (he's almost 6 ft tall at 13) so it's hysterical to me that you use that as a term of endearment as I do. Nothing over the top about it!

For anyone interested, send all whine-a-thon pledges to Ron

No, seriously Ellen- thank you for the encouragement to whine- but it's too long of a story. i would need to fill all in on the fine details, which would take ten months because i like to ramble....

what it came down to wednesday was a a 7am team mtg, a parent, pms, AND a few vertebra being locked and having to be pulled/pushed, stretched, compressed to unlock.... so, by days end i was a physical and emotional mess.

OY

I am working on my bachelor's and my teaching certificate. After doing observation in an 8th grade class I switched to elementary education. My son is in 8th grade and pretty tame compared to what I saw that semester.

So, yeah, I could relate to your whine as well....from parents to PMS and everything in between! Enjoy your weekend, I know you've earned it.

THanks E-

I was considering moving to Europe after wednesday's fiasco. I don't blame you for switching. I go in once a week to a second grade classroom- they are sooo cute. Too innocent for everything- they still have that innocense.

well only about 132 more days or so [my co-worker made a countdown timer on his machine, he keeps us updated].

Lots of luck with the certification-- the first year of teaching is always the hardest.
hope the knee is better.

Ok, if I may I would like to jump on this whine wagon! Well, I am going to have to whine about work! Way too much overtime is available and I can’t say no! So I have been working way too much and I will for the next 3 weeks or so. I want to get a new bike so bad that I have signed up to work an extra 36 hours a week. So that will put me at 84 hours a week for the next month almost! Icky! Training will be ruff going but that bike sure will be nice!! And oh,, did I mention the Timex body link I need, and the wetsuit, and a couple more pairs of running shoes, and ect ect.. lol. Thank you! I feel much better now!!! Jack

So that will put me at 84 hours a week

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know there were 84 hrs in a week!  That's nuts!  I mean, that's a very admirable work ethic you have there.  Good grief!  Between that amount of work, dteague being sent to Baghdad, and Ellen's knee I don't think I have anything to whine about.  My job interview went well today, so thanks to all who wished me luck.

*Whines on behalf of others*  Poor me, poor poor me.

Ellen, I thought about you yesterday -- you hadn't posted a work out, and I didn't see your monicker on any posts  -- I missed you!! You poor, crumpled mess! Well -- buck up, you will be back at the treadmill grind soon enough! and do enjoy being waited on.

I could have whined yesterday endlessly about work, but I was too rung out! So I took today off instead. I did have a brief dental visit (just a check back for some work I'm having done) so I justified a sick day. And now still have the weekend to "get over it".

Take care of the knee.

I hope you survive all those hours. I'm thinking big-time burnout baby. You may need some balance more than the new bike shoes. My unsolicited 2¢

I'd join in on the whining but the past few days have been so tough I'm pretty whined out.  Kids, work, the wrist, the jaw, post-race fatigue, everything's kind of blowing up right now.  Whine, whine, whine.

Ellen,

I empathize with knee problems, as I had patellofemoral syndrome for about 8 months a few years ago. IT TOTALLY SUCKED!!! It was very difficult to recover from, but with the right physio and sticking to the exercises, I am OK now.
Women often have biomechanical imbalances in the lower extremities because of a wider pelvis...No fair!!... Now that is a reason to whine in itself!!
I hope you feel better
JB

Ok who wants some cheese whith their WINE. Ellen I admire your ambition for teaching and all of those who are doing it. At my crossroads I chose not to follow my desire to teach. I have found my outlet in doing living history with the Billerica miniutemen. Good luck on the rest of your education. Hope all else is going better.

Okay, I will join in also. I hurt my back shovelling the dad gummed snow. I pulled a calf muscle while swimming?!? My left ankle hurts. My left wrist is pained. My nasal passages are dry and irritated from the heating at home and at work. My eyes are getting a bit feeble. I am getting old and loosing my good looks as well as my girlish figure ( and I'm a guy!). And...there is a whole lot of snow that needs to be shovelled and it's cold out there. BUT, I can't whine too much because I am not shovelling that white CR*P! And, I have a nice bottle of port to keep me company!!

I'll take some whine with my cheese, or the in case of MAC I'll also take some port, warm and yummy in my tummy. I need it with all this cold weather.
