I don't usually wear wide width shoes but I recently bought a pair of clipless pedals and shoes. On the last several rides the outsides of my feet begin to hurt. It's as if the sides of my feet are "hanging over" the sides of my shoes.
A quick search did not reveal anyone who makes wide width shoes.
Or are they just going to hurt until I get used to them?
I've had the same issues for years with my Sidi's with lateral foot pain at times (there several years old, not sure what model ). I just picked up a pair of LG Carbon Tri Air's in standard mens width and found I don't get the foot discomfort my Sidis' had given me in the past. I've only used the LG's on the trainer, but like them so far. I had to stop some long rides last summer/fall due to my foot pain in my Sidi's, besides lateral foot pain, I had troubles on the underside too, especially around the cleat.
I don't normally wear wide shoes/boots, except for Easton ice hockey skates, and Warrington fire and USAR boots.
I'm sure foot wear can be like wet suits, to each there own.
Good luck |
