You do the training that you can, not what the tri population does as a whole and sees as "necessary." I'm sure most people have at least seen the thread in the Ironman forum about "big weekends" versus breaking them up. But you need to come to grips with the fact that your longer endurance may not build as much or as fast as you would like compared to those that do fit in both. Maybe start with long run Saturday, short bike Sunday then the next weekend flip them so you have long bike on Sat. and short run on Sun.?? At least that way you are not overloading your body as much but you still have the benefit of two days straight. Just a thought ..... |
