so we find out that sun is the last of the oceanic 6, jin might be one of the eight who the oceanic 6 say survived the crash but didn't make it off the island (date on his tombstone was the date of the crash), jin is going to bite it some time down the line, there's some really freaky sh1t going on on widmore's boat, and hey stranger, it's michael as ben's man on the boat. and hey stranger, it's bernard going fishing with jin.

what was up with the captain of the ship? doesn't he know that on Lost you're not supposed to say things in such a straightforward manner?

better than last week's episode, not as good as the middle arc. but still better than most anything else on the teevee.

and i find it hard to believe that anyone actually stays tuned for "eli stone."

oh, and my sawyer nickname is "babar."

next week's episode is the last until april 24th when we'll get another five or six.

Sun and Jin are the last two of the six. And next week's episode is about them.

I am almost certain.

I'm thinking Sun, but not Jin. No real reason, but we know Sun is in danger of dying because of her pregnancy, so they'll make a big effort to get her off the island. I can see Jin being one of the eight crash survivors but not one of the Oceanic Six.

How does Michael get on the boat under an assumed name, and where is Walt? (Or Tall Walt's Ghost for that matter).

I'm not sure that Jin will die.  The date of his death on the tombstone was 9/22/2004.  Wasn't that when the plane crashed?  They are protecting the other survivors for some reason.

I have no idea what the flash forward meant.

Jin is, once again, working for Sun's father... Sun is known as one of the "Ocean 6" so obviously her father must know she's alive... but Sun thinks Jin is dead? Does Jin not know Sun is alive and giving birth to his baby? And Jin has remarried? WTF?!?!

Is Jin alive for real? Or is that a flashback to when he first married Sun (when he says - "I've only been married two months"? And Sun doesn't necessarily think that Jin is dead. She only says "I miss you". As the post above - the people who don't come back to the mainland aren't necessarily dead. The survivors could be protecting them for some reason.

I didn't take the tombstone date to mean that Jin definitely dies at some point - it might just be to corroborate the story of the Oceanic Six for the outside world.  Perhaps Jin is still alive but stayed behind on the island.

At first, I thought it was annoying how they flipped back and forth between the Sun/Jin newlywed flashback and the flash forward of Sun having the baby on her own.  Now it's kind of growing on me though.

I like Sun and Jin - they are cute And I don't know if I was just super-tired or super-hormonal last night, but I was all misty at the end when we see that she survives and has the baby and then goes to Jin's grave with Hurley. Normally, I don't like when Lost tries to get all sappy, but this didn't bother me.

jin's was a flash-back. his cellphone was quite clunky, and he was talking like the jin of old ("i'll rip your head off!").
i think sun's demeanor at the grave fit more with jin being dead than with jin being alive somewhere.
and why didn't jack show up to see sun? sun's flash-forward seemed to occur before hurley goes off the deep end, which happens before jack does. and i guess sayid might have already been off whacking folks for ben.

which reminds me---in sayid's episode, when ben says "you want to protect your friends don't you?", i thought at the time that ben was referring to the other oceanic 6. but he could've also been referring to whoever might still be on the island. or, ben could have meant that sayid wants to protect them from ben's people.

Yeah, I noticed the large cellphone and the thuggish threats. But those phones haven't been used since the 90s.  I thought the writers said that these were flash-forwards? Maybe I read that wrong somewhere.

But if it was a flashback for Jin... what was the point of his flashback? I don't think any scenes are gratuitous, so what were we supposed to learn from Jin's flashback, if it were a flashback.

i think sun's demeanor at the grave fit more with jin being dead than with jin being alive somewhere.

 I agree.

Well, it should have happened 7mos after getting off the island since she was 2mos pregnant, so yes her flash-forward would have preceded Jack's flash-forward, especially since Kate's story includes being charged, tried and released for her crimes - can't believe that could happen within 7mos of them being rescued (and we don't even know when they will be rescued, but Jin's delivery points to somewhere between the present and 7mos out).

Timeline aside, maybe Jack has no desire to fly across the Pacific ocean?

ha, true...not yet at least

rather than telling us anything new, i think the point of the flash-back/flash-forward mix was to give the "surprise" that sun made it off the island, but jin did not.

Good point. I assumed Jin was in a flash forward and even said to myself "It seems as if they don't do flashbacks anymore."

Having the Jin arc be a flashback makes much more sense - all of the things Sun said/did were vague enough to back this up I think.

I got questions:

OK, are we counting Aaron as one of the Oceanic Six? Or do is there another be named?

  1. Jack
  2. Kate
  3. Hurley
  4. Sahid
  5. Sun
  6. Aaron?

Juliet said that Ben sent her to kill Charlotte and Daniel, did he do this through Harper, or at least Ben's manifestation of Harper?

Could the knocking sound on the boat be another prisoner? Maybe Walt?

Line of the week: when Kate is asked why did Juliet lied about the Tempest being a power station, she replies "Force of habit."

I kept waiting for Sayid to tell Desmond that is was morse code or something....

I also don't think Aaron is one of the six as he is being portrayed as Kate's son...?

I was expecting that as well. And...I think I'd think (if I were them) that maybe the room they're in is bugged. (And I mean the first one, where they hear the fake morse code, not the second, actually buggy, room.)

that second room is buggy. the blood spatter was a nice touch.

IIRC, the previews said we'd find out the last member of the oceanic 6 in last night's episode. so i think aaron counts.

And what about Regina.  Reading the book upside down and then taking the big step off the boat (with chains).  Nobody cared.....Than the Doctor (Ekerdt from CSI) takes Desmond and Sayed to a new room and there is Blood Splatter on the wall....

My first impression of Michael was that he is brainwashed  or is it an act that he doesn't recognize Sayed?

Oh, I wondered where the Doctor looked familiar from.

I think Michael recognized Sayid - it seemed there was a glance between them.

Well, the trailer said "the last of the Oceanic 6" would be revealed specifically. No mention of the last "one" or anyhting like that - it was intentionally non-specific in this regard, I think?

I think that captain isn't really the captain.  I think the doctor is the captain.  Way to forthcoming with info, sounded rehearsed or something.  I think he is the decoy.

Obviously, Walt's dad is the "spy" that Ben placed on the boat...where Walt is..who knows?

I think you may have something with the doctor on the boat being the real captain...that would explain the strange way he talks to Sayad and Desmond.

Crazy...we learned that Ben is the one that staged the fake plane with all the dead passengers in the ocean...he must have really been desperate not to have anyone discover the island.

Oh..and I think Jacob is the one that creates all of the images that people see. For ex. Juliet seeing Harper was a vision that Jacob created to have her go and kill the two people from the boat. AND...Jacob might also be that black smoke that appears every once in awhile. Now, who Jacob is...who knows...the weird thing is that Hurley saw him and the cabin. And remember how pissed Ben got when Locke heard Jacob...I wonder what he would do if he knew Hurley saw him??

Anyone have any guesses as to why Hurley said "good" when he found out that no one else was coming to see Sun's baby?

It's bothering me, but I can't come up with any (plausible) reason other than the oceanic 6 did not part on good terms.

I think the 6th could be Ben. We know he gets off the island and I'm assuming he took someone from the plane's identity. After all, he has all of those passports, it can't be hard for him to forge another one. I'm pretty sure it's not Aaron anyway.
