Expert 924![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Louisville, KY | Subject: Infiinit NutritionA lot people on this forum are aware of infinit Nutrition's product, especially now that they are apparently a sponsor with a banner ad. However, I wanted to give them some additional exposure. I've been using there drink mix this season while training for IM Louisville and have found it to be almost perfect. The taste is much better than anything else I've encountered and my stomach easily tolerates it over multi-hour bike rides and runs. What really prompted me to write this is there turn around time on my most recent order. From the time I went to their website to order until delivery at my front door was right at 1.5 business days. Granted they are based in Cincinnati, OH and I live 90 miles away in Louisville, KY, so it didn't have to travel completely across the county, but I still found it amazing. Great product and service. |

Right now the plan is to use what's on the course, but I like the idea of having a concentrated bottle of infinit. It helps knowing it's a solid company. |

The Natti | Subject: RE: Infiinit NutritionThanks for the words. Most apreciated. We are starting to get a bunch of new customers from BT. That is the way is usually goes, a few people try it and find out that it works and then a bunch more come in. I say it over and over, but we are a very simple product. At the end of the day, it is just sugar and salt that your body needs to fuel your day. We just give you a platform that you can create your own unique nutrition and eliminate the gels food and salt pills and it will taste how you want. Makes your nutrition much much easier and repeatable. |

The Natti | Subject: RE: Infiinit Nutritionbeadams - 2008-07-16 6:57 AM I sent you a message - if you could give feedback I would appreciate it. Thanks! I am answering here because that is a question I get a lot. Actually the #1 question so it will help some other people. You mentioned that you are having some gas issues on the run. I am guessing that your formula contains protein. I LOVE protein for longer bike rides and for general endurance workouts. But I find that protein can give you gas when you run. I am guessing that it is because you tend to have higher heart rates and your body does not process as well when running. Protein can be harder to digest than carbs, so that is the reason for some people to have issues at higher HR and on the run. You are just under more stress as oppesed to just grinding on your bike. Most of the athletes I work with have two formulations. 1) The endurance formula with higher calories and some protein to keep you from getting hungry. Sounds like that is the one you have. This is for long training and for the bike rides that are over 3 hrs. 2) A Run/Sprint formula. This is a lighter formula that will keep you from getting your gut out of whack. They use this formula for sprint racing, running races and also for the run of Tris. To create a run/sprint mix do the following. Move the carb blend down to the short side to increase the glucose, it absorbs faster than maltodextrin. Decrease the calories by 10-15% Electrolyte the same Take out the protein You can add some caffeine to this formula. This will be a much lighter mix and will eliminate any gut issues. Between those two formulations that will take care of 99% of the racing and training you might do. Another little hint is that you can fill a fuel belt bottle up completely and then add some water to make a concentrate. You can get 4-500 calories in a single bottle. Then just squirt a little into a glass of ice water at the aid stations. That way you can carry all of your calories in a small ammount of space and weight. |

Master 1748![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Port Moody, BC | Subject: RE: Infiinit NutritionI have been meaning to write a quick note to Infinit praising them about their product. I have only ever used water, gatorade, pwer bars and gels for my training. Since using my blend of Infinit I have not had ANY leg cramps, stomach cramps, my power stays constant which amazes me since I am not taking in anything other than the Infinit. The mix is amazing and the customer service is great! I am dealing with the Canadian store so that may be the reason they are so amazing. The side effects of the product are pretty astounding as well! My love life has flourished, I never get flat tires anymore, I have a nice shiny coat, colours seem a lot more vibriant, I got a nice raise at work, I peed on a tree stump during a ride last week and 3 days later, the tree had GROWN BACK!!! Infinit is truely a great product, the staff very helpfull in how best to use it, and it has shown me great results! I will be using Infinit for a long time! Edited by hazmaster 2008-07-16 12:10 PM |

I'm in the same boat as triguynewbie...only I had been using Cytomax (natural orange flavor). At first, it was tolerable...but the longer I used it, the more gross-tasting it became. Now the canister is just sitting on my countertop, untouched. Plus it discolored the insides of all of my water bottles...yuck! I'm looking for a drink mix blend that I can use on 70-80 mile rides (usually about 6 hours or so). My pace is a slower, moderate pace...around 16mph average. Which flavors are good? I prefer a subtle flavoring, over a strong one. |

Expert 762![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() San Antonio, TX | Subject: RE: Infiinit NutritionThe flavors are great! They have three, Orange, Fruit Punch and Lemon Lime. I've tried the first two and love it compared to anything else out there. When you order keep in mind when you get the the flavor scale wheather or not your going to use it concentrated. If the answer is yes go light on flavor so you don't over power yourself. BTW...I have used Infinit for two years and just finished CDA with it and LOVED it. |

I am going to try infinite next. Any recomendations on flavor, is there even more than one flavor. Thanks in advance. Myself and onther guy developed the product, we have maybe 25 IM's between us so we are fully aware of the fact that what tastes good sitting around watching TV is NOT what tastes good 3-4 hours into a long hot workout. Because of that INFINIT is not that sweet and there is a marked salt background to our flavoring system. I had Mark Allen make the comment that it actually tastes better after 5 hours than it does in the beginning. The main thing is that whatever product you use, it has to be very drinkable long into the workout and when the temp of the liquid is hot. If you cannot want to get it down, you might as well be drinking cement. Think about it, what do you gravitate to at the end of a race? Salty stuff. I know that I am looking for the chicken soup, pretzels or pep pizza (yummmm) not cookies or sweets. What drives people is subtle flavor with salt. Our highest flavor setting is far less than Gatorade or Cytomax. Most of my clients start a little to the right of halfway, that seems to be a good starting point. Orange is the most neutral, LL has just a little sour to it, and FP is well.....fruit punch. O and LL are the two best sellers. People that like FP, like ours. The Flavors are all natural made from real juice, no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners. Edited by infinIT 1 2008-07-16 4:20 PM |

Veteran 223![]() ![]() Ft. Wayne, IN | Subject: RE: Infiinit NutritionThanks for the feedback, I have no pride so if anyone learns from my question so be it! I mentioned I have found that if I slightly dilute the mix about 10-20% my issues are not as bad or not at all, but I do not want to lessen the benefits of the carbs, protein, and electrolytes at the same time. I do not get the problem every time, there could certainly be a dietary reason for my issue as well and not related to your product. Its almost time to reorder, I am going to adjust the formula per your recommendations. Thanks again! |

I've been using up my perpetuem supply out here in the desert and finally realized I really hate the taste! Yuck! But I digress. What I want to KNOW is how the heck do you go about deciding what to put in your mix? I tried the little "create a mix" question doohicky (highly technical terms of course) and it came up with something...but how did it come up with that? Like, it picked orange. But I'm sure I'm a fruit punch kinda girl. And I like flavor, but it put my flavor at the low end. I'm confuddled. Do you just try out 4-5 different mixes (for different length workouts, etc.) and pick your favorites? For the current users...what did you do to decide on a mix? |

Member 37![]() | Subject: RE: Infiinit NutritionWhen I made my batch I used the question guide also. I had a similar experience with the level of flavoring slider. I thought I would like it on the high side but after answering the questions it still had it on the low end. After the formula was made I added a little more flavoring (still below the halfway point) and it was plenty. Other then that I stuck with the reccomendations they gave me and have been happy. I think orange may be their standard flavor, which is very good, but I wouldnt hesitate to switch to fruit punch if that's what you like. |

Do you just try out 4-5 different mixes (for different length workouts, etc.) and pick your favorites? For the current users...what did you do to decide on a mix? I am into my first week of using Infinit and so far it has been a good experiment. To answer your question on what to decide, I went to the source. I e-mailed them and we had a VERY good back and forth and what I needed. At the time, I was using Tri-Berry Nuun and Banana Hammer Gel (4/hr). I gave them all the info on what I was currently using and I let them do their thing. I came up with a blend, but theirs was bit different. So, what I decided was to let the experts do what they do. So far, I have done a 1 hr Interval workout, a 4.5 hr Z2 ride (94 degrees) and a 2 hr Tempo (92 degrees) and can't complain at all. At first, I didn't like the salt "after-taste" but quickly, I became use to it and it actually made me want to drink a bit more. I have my flavor slider at the third notch (low side). I was worried that for 4.5 hrs I would need my gels, so I brought them along. But I carried 4 bottles (2 hydrotail, 1 downtube and AD) onboard and filled up a 5th on the road. I didn't need any more calories which surprised me very much. Now...the question is what to do for IM. I drink out of my AD continuiously, so I don't want to concentrate it for fear of screwing it up. But I also don't plan on putting powder into a water bottle at 20+ mph. Might just put extra ones in my special needs bag. Oh...Tip for you: A serving is for 20 oz. Being a good engineer, I wanted to maximize the amount of fluid, so I put the powder (2 scoops) into a 22 oz bottle and then added the water. That way i get the full amount of liquid when it's mized with the powder. |

One is my 'Dumpster Mix' which is my IM blend ( created following the questionaire, with a slight bump in calories ). This is my bread and butter for long bike rides. The other is the 'Heat Mix'. It's got a bit less protein, more electrolytes, and bit fewer calories. I use that on my runs ( and during the IM run in CdA ). This is lemon-lime, which I like better due to the 'tang + salt' taste. |

I live in Louisville too so my orders generally get here in 1 to 2 days. I am a big fan of the taste, once again about halfway, but the saltiness really hits the spot as was mentioned above. I have only tried the FP flavor, but it works for me. It absolutely holds its flavor over several hours and is just as tasty late in the day. The only minor complaint I have is how the bottles get foamy on the run, but that is inevitable since I have protein in the mix so it has nothing to do with this specifc product. I have only been training with one formula so far and have used it in Olys, HIMs and during my training for IMKY. I plan on doing 3x 1hour bottles on the bike and stopping at special needs for 3 more. Im planning on 2x 2hour bottles on the run and stopping at special needs for 2 more. I havent jumped on the super concentrating bandwagon, just because its harder for me to judge how much to take when Im injesting 1 to 2oz sips rather than 6-8oz chugs. |

I hit the truck to rack my bike and picked up my concentrated bottle. The taste was not bad (I use the lowest taste setting) and I liked it more than gels. I needed water to help clear out my stomach, but the Infinit did its job. I am going to carry a couple bottles on my run during my upcoming 1/2 IM. Mike |

I get a response from Michael personally, who not only helped with the order but threw in some extra gear for me to share with my fellow soldiers over here. Sure, it was some good advertising for him, but it also showed a personal touch that is very rare these days. I haven't had a chance to fully test the product. I've done one workout with it and it wasn't enough to get a good feel. The taste was average and it made me burp some, but it went down much easier than the gatorade/water/gel combo I was using before. I'll post more once I've given it a thorough test on a long/intense workout. |
