Subject: RE: I finished my First Tri!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 420m Swim 7:51,12mile Bike 45:22, 3.1mile Run 54:54, Total 1:48:07
I have the official times of my First Triathlon. I did the swim slower than I should have. I freaked out as I hit the water. My heart rate went through the roof. I couldn't do anything to bring it down. I was able to pass one girl and that was cool, but I still took almost 8 minutes to to swim 400m. But that is one note to self to work on before the Nathans. The T1 took me 7 minutes. I never trainned for my Transitions and it showed big time. The bike though was great. I love the bike. I did the actual bike in 38minutes. That is not all that bad for 300lbs lugging around. The pics look like I am a bear on a kids bike though. I realy need to lose some weight. T2 was better but my brothers said I looked like I was going to the execution table by the look on my face putting my shoes on. But I think that I would be happier with death. I hate running (A LOT) As I came to about .75miles from the finish my brother came and ran nex to me in flip flops. He stayed with me to the end. I must give him great credit for that. My other brother was there from the start and helped to somewhat calm me down. (not that that was going to happen) It was good to see Moto-Mort there as well, And thank you to him for beng there as I came around the finish line shoot. I am still a little shocked that I finished my first Triathlon. My body on the other hand is sore all over. I have walked away with information I could not get from trainning. I know what it is now that everyone is addicted to. I hurt all over and still I love the sport that did it. That is a little crazy I know but I have done a lot of crazy things in my life so it is right up my alley. This has helped to refine my goals. I will lose 25lbs before the nathans. I will cut my run by either1/4 or half of where it is now. And I will try and not freak out on the swim. And I will make sure to have as much fun as I did on this one and more. Thank you all again for the support. Thank God for putting the will in me and the ability to finish. And thank you to my wife for letting me get into such an addictive and exspensive sport.
