If I remember correctly, there might have been some at the swim start, but nothing that seemed to be of great significance. Perhaps others remember otherwise? |

It can a little disconcerting because it's kind of pointy. Once you got out to the start line, though, it was gone. They introduced carp into Lake Austin to fight the hyrdilla and that's had a great impact. I don't know if they've done the same for Decker. In any case, it's not an issue once you start the race. |

If I can find a spot that doesn't have the hydrilla, we'll just bring in a truckload of beach sand and drop it, for the swim start. We do the same thing for the swim finish, and it works really well  |

All parking will be at the Travis County Expo Center (about .75 mile away). HUGE place to park. Then, we'll have shuttle buses taking you to the race site. Should make things much easier to get into the park in the AM. Buses begin at 5 AM, with transition opening at 5:30 AM. Buses will run continuously throughout the day, so spectators that don't come in the morning will have an easy time getting to the park by taking the bus from Expo Center.... Should work pretty slick |

Just make sure, as an athlete, that you show up in time. You wouldn't believe how many racers were on the buses AFTER the first wave had already been scheduled to start! |

Just walk them back to the expo center? Also, when do the tailgating spots "close"? For those of us who will likely take the entire 8 hours on the course (gotta get your money's worth) it doesn't leave much time to cool down, get to the tailgate, eat, etc. if the buses stop running at 5 pm. |

Im getting pumped... now just the last of the training and a trip to NY for Yankeys game, Redsox game and Mets Game all in 3 days.... o and studying... 19 hours this fall has startd to take a tole on me... o and getting my hosue ready to sell....
