Elite  2553    Tucson, AZ |  Subject: I'm going to XTERRA Nationals!!!!Just got the confirmation e-mail that I've qualified and been invited to the XTERRA National Championships in Tahoe! Best e-mail EVER! Dear XTERRA Competitor: Congratulations! It’s my pleasure to invite you to compete in the 8th annual XTERRA USA National Championship race in Lake Tahoe on October 5, 2008. As a leading regional points scorer, you have earned a slot at this prestigious event, where the title of National Champion in your age group will be up for grabs. The field is limited to those racers, like yourself, who have qualified in the eight XTERRA regions throughout the country. Not only will every multisport and tri magazine be there to cover the event, but a full one hour television show will be taped as well. Combine a real chance for a National Championship with an epic course on the Tahoe Rim and Flume trails plus television coverage and a couple of wonderful parties and dinners, and you have a weekend you can’t miss. ... Remember only invited athletes can compete in the Championship race. If you have a friend who wants to race, we have XTERRA Nevada a non-qualifiers event on Saturday this is open to everyone.Aloha, I can't wait! I won't be in contention for a top spot or anything, but I still want to go and race the course hard and have an awesome time. I've never been to Tahoe, so this will be a ton of fun. I can't wait to ride the famed Flume trail. My friend Liane is in the next age group up from mine, so she'll be going with me. Hubby and I are staying a few days later after the race, and depending on weather will head up to Downieville to hit the downhill trails before coming back to Tucson. And of course there will be a race report and pics! |

| Extreme Veteran 586 Waterboro, Maine | Subject: RE: I'm going to XTERRA Nationals!!!! Congrats to you! I was thinking at one point of trying to qualify. I am 46 and there were no other women in my age category at my one Xterra event in Maine. Too bad they don't include the Xterra trail runs in the qualification rules - I did one of those races too. I just couldn't justify the travelling to NY & NH to qualify.
