So who's doing NYC Marathon this year? How's the training coming?

Are you doing the Queens and/or Staten Island Half's?

You know I am Although it remains to be seen how well I'll do now. My training was a struggle before because I was prioritizing triathlon, and now with the injury, it's just a matter of getting by. I'm missing Queens since I'm volunteering at Mighty Hamptons, but if I'm in town 10/12, I'll most definitely run Staten Island.

I drove across the Verrazano on my way back from Staten Island today and finally got into marathon mode. Now if only my shoulder would heal!

I'm thinking of volunteering. I can't really figure out how to do it, though. There's not a link on the NYRR website that I can find that works. If I don't volunteer, I'll be at my usual spot along 4th ave in Brooklyn cheering.

Missed out as I only got to 6 NYRR races last year before I got injured. But hubby is in so I'll be cheering him on. Volunteered last year -was kind of a big clusterf&*k, wouldn't recommend it. I'll be cheering ya'll on!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but as an out of towner watching my husband race, do you have any advice on where it might be best to watch.  I would ideally like to find my husband  2 or 3 times and I know I probably won't be able to see him finish.  I will have two kids in tow and am fine with the subway and walking.  Just looking for advice - I couldn't find much on the marathon website.

Thanks!

Good luck to all you NYC marathoners.  I ran it last year and it was a good time.  Not a fast course by any means.  I'll never forget running through the Hasidic part of Brooklyn.  There's all these people on the road side, but nobody cheers!!  All you hear is the tapping of feet and you see a few women and children smiling ...but everyone is silent.

I'll be running Philly this year!!  Rock On!!

Wave starts have been posted on line in the runner profile page. I am in Wave 2 starting at 10am. That's gonna be a lot of waiting around for me.
