Can't wait for the new season. What are you all going to focus on this offseason?

For me, I'm going to drop 10 lbs so I can get some better speed on the bike.

Let me know if you want any fall group rides. Now that I'm off my formal training plan for a couple months, it would be fun.

When you put it in terms of 8 1/2 months, summer doesn't seem that far off anymore. Oh, that's right, it still is "officially" summer.

I'm in the 10 pounds weight loss boat too. All year I kept saying, "Right after this or that, I am going to start being careful with what I eat." The problem is that there is always some excuse I used. I was a faster runner when I weighed less so the benefits of losing are endless. I want to be the biggest LOSER

I'd love to go for a ride some time. Afternoons/evenings have been beautiful lately.

I need to focus on running this off season. It is easily my weakest leg right now and I know I could do so much better there if I committed myself to working on the run.

Funny!  8.5 months isn't too bad, is it.  I never let my season end which is good/bad.  I have a du on the 21st and then a 10-miler and half-marathon before the end of the year.  Also Tri-U-Mah is in February and ever Twin Cities BTer should do that.

However, I'd love a group ride.  Maybe in October...

I have to learn to stretch more. I am going to focus on core, and hopefully it will translate into the 10 pound weight loss. I hope that will also translate into better running, swimming, and biking. I will probably start hitting the Pilates classes at the Y on Saturday morning.

He will kick my butt again also. Of course alot of people will kick my butt unless I can figure out how to run faster, and move the bike average up from 19.6 to 30. I might have a shot then. When is registration opening?

If they do like last year, it will open on December 1...and it will sell out sometime in spring but I forget when it actually sold out this year.  If you know you're going to do it sign up when it opens.

I did the olympic at Buffalo this year and loved it. I am aiming for the Liberty 1/2 IM for next summer. I think I get 2 extra weeks for training with the Liberty. Oh, and two extra weeks of the lakes warming up too!

Not sure what I'll be doing next year. Everything will be 70.3 or less.

I'm thinking I'd like to do another marathon (Twin Cites? Chicago?) next year along with a HIM (Liberty?). Guess that means I should start biking/swimming again?

Hope everyone had a good year. I can't wait for next season, going to be doing alot of light weight training for strengh. I also will be doing Buffalo and liberty half ironman. Square lake was my first crack at 70.3 and it was a disaster. Blew a tire at 42 miles, fixed that in a downpour and then at 50.75 miles blew my other tires and bent my rim. Couldn't see the monster pothole that was filled with water. That ended it for me.

Fun year, looking forward to next year and I'm glad I joined the BT ers in August,

Emily, I'm also doing the freedom 10 mile.

Oh my... next season.

Well, add me to the "need to lose 10 pounds" club.   I also need to work on my running and stay injury-free.  I'm starting some speed work in the pool and I hope that pays off.  Of course, I plan to keep getting stronger on that bike.

I think I'll stay with sprints and Olys.  I don't think my wonky legs will hold up to the longer distances.  Maybe if I can stay healthy...

Brian, last year, when I started training after getting into IMOO '08, I weighed what you do now. You get down to 180, and you're gonna kick some SERIOUS butt out there buddy. Heck, you broke 14 hours as a Clyde with GI issues this year. I'm not even gonna guess what you'll do at 180 or 190.

Oh, and congrats on winning the finish-time pool. You deserved it.

Craig -

Sorry to hear it. That bike course had some nasty potholes. I can only imagine how they were impossible to negotiate when everything had water on it.
