Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Just a quick reminder of the rules of the challenge. The goal of the challenge is to get 5 workouts of at minimum 30 minutes. The workout does not have to be one straight exercise or done all at once. What this means is as long as you get 30 minutes of exercise in the day it will count for the point. For example, if you run for 15 minutes in the morning and lift wieghts in the evening for 25 minutes for a total of 40 minutes you have enough time to be counted. Each workout that is successfully completed is worth a point. The time periods that you have to complete your workouts and have them counted are Nov 8th, Nov 15th, Nov 22nd, and Nov 30th. I will try to get a spreadsheet up to log the points in. As a bonus you can get one extra point for any two time periods. What this means for you is there is a total of 22 points out of 20 points total. Yes there is a chance to get an extra 10%. The team that gets the most points wins the challenge. The teams are as follows: Mother Truckers
Good luck. I reccomend that you take this chance to get to know you teammates. It will take the whole team to win the challenge. Update 10/31 Here is a link to your team spreadsheet - Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC ChallengeIt is in a google spreadsheet the username is btchallenge the password is challenge forum just give a shout if you have any trouble! Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Hi gang, I am Steve. I have just completed my first year of tri training from the couch. In the past year I have done a 5k, 10 mile, half mary, 30k trail run (8k elevation gain) last weekend, Sprint, Oly and HIM. I am trying to get in shape for my first Full Mary in January and possibly a full IM this time next year. This is a recovery week, so I should be up and good to go for the start of November. I live in NE California and we have had our first snowstorm of the season, but it should be a pleasant 50 and rainy as November starts. |

Elite 3595 Quebec, Canada | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Hi everyone, My name is Robert. I live in Quebec, Canada. So I am a french Canadian who lives in cold weather I am new to triathlon, earlier this year a friend of mine asked me to compete with him into a team duathlon since I love to ride my bike and he's a not too bad of a runner. So we did, after that I was hocked. Since I was not that much of a swimmer I decided to start running and I did some Duathlon this past summer, ran a 10k and a half mary. I started swimming after my half mary with the idea to do Triathlon next summer. As of now I am injured and I can't run, so I do swim and ride more. I should be able to run again soon, well I hope I can't wait to meet you all. Go Mother Truckers Go!! |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge I'm Judi, central VA at the moment...I'm originally from upstate NY but haven't lived there in almost 30 years (Oh man, that makes me an old fart) . I've also lived in southern MD and just outside Philly but Philly is more home than VA to me. Just completed my second season in tris. This year included a 10K (annual race), my first half mary, 5K, 1 mile river swim, 2 sprints and an international distance that turned du. I have a half mary Nov 15, last race this season. Then I'm going for a bike focused off season so expect to see a whole lotta green in my logs. I know Mila will be keeping me honest about those bike hours |

Pro 4216 Sous Mon Diadème | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Well now. Enough of this quiet stuff. We shall fix that effective immediately. My name is... Mila. Yes, I know, very clever. It's pronounced MY-la. I live in my kingdom, which is located in Hotlanta. I enjoy princessy things like tiaras, kissing frogs, glass slippers and manicures. I also really enjoy riding my pretty bike and getting my lift on. I swim (in my moat) when it's absolutely necessary and I enjoy running (very slowly) from I have some medical, erm... "challenges"... that sometimes get in the way of training but I usually manage to get a lil' somethin' somethin' in despite that... generally 5-6 days per week. It helps that I get paid to work out and ride my bike. I obviously have the best.job.ever. I should probably mention that I am cold-hearted and ill-behaved. I love BT challenges... but I don't like to not win (actually, I've never really experienced that, though it's not looking so hot for my October team. DOH!). I have been known to use motivational "props" to inspire my teammates. I think that about covers it. Did I leave anything out, Judi & Kendra?

They are a little quiet... do you think I scared them away already?? Maybe, maybe not. They could just be tieing up loose ends from Oct's challenge so that they can be 100% commited to your team. Since they know loosing isn't a good option and all. |

Congrats (and ouch on that trail run!). Uhhh, if memory serves, in my first season I was not quite not so inspired. I actually had only one goal, which was to finish a couple short races and not die .

Je peux "parler" (well, OK, in this case, write... with terrible spelling and grammar) un peu de français... mais je le lis bien. What kind of injury do you have? I seem to have some kind of achilles issue going on... going to the doctor next week and I'm afriad he's gonna say no bike or run. Since I am in love with my bike, this is going to be problematic . Edited because I spelled spelling wrong. Yeah. Really! Edited by mila 2008-10-30 10:09 PM |
