So with UBC looming and the '09 season creeping up, I'm curious not only how many post points I can make but also who is racing what races? Got most of the races in chronological order I think...

Guess I'm first and I added the Kelowna Apple Tri in August.  I'm just doing the sprint in both.  I'd do a race in July but I'll be biking in France .

I added the Peach classic triathlon in July. I'm going to try to be back in time to do the Walnut grove race and see if my training energy can see me through to Cultus in Sept.

Awesome, I am doing Walnut again this year. As well I am slated for North Shore, Vancouver Tri (Sprint), Cresent Beach, Oliver 1/2 as well as the Calgary 1/2 Ironman. Really looking forward to this year, kicking training into high gear!!

My usual line up:

Oliver Sprint
Oliver 1/2IM
Peachland Sprint
Walnut Grove Sprint
Summerland Sprint

This my last year in present AG so I'm a little less serious about training this year. Next year will be different.

I haven't decided yet. Astana has been calling, but they have that Lance guy and I don't think he's willing to share the lead spot...

I'm thinking:

Delta

Oliver HIM

Squamish

Kelowna Apple

Cultus

And maybe one XTC (probably Squamish...?)

*Edit*

I'll probably only end up doing Oliver and maybe Kelowna, though.

Think fast about Oliver cause Haz is about to raise his rates for sleeping space in his tent.....oh, and i should also mention race entry is soon coming to a close.

I've been registered for months.  I'm also booked into a B&B.

Only to save money. Mar. 1st is the deadline for early entry discount.

It's basically going to be an extremely busy summer for me!

I have the Shawnigan Half on the 24th, Lifesaving Sport Nationals on the next week/weekend, and then Commonwealth Lifesaving Games + training camp in Edmonton from June 4th-15th, and then the New Balance Half the week after that! Gahhh, the rest of the summer is the rest of the Subaru series! Unfortunately my sister is getting married on July 11th, so I cant make it to the Vancouver Half Iron, but maybe I will squeeze a race in in July, as well as August, since the Subaru series doesnt end until Sept.

I havent planned any other races yet, and I can't do Oliver because of the Commonwealth Lifesaving games.

Glad to hear some of the race cards are nice and full!

Derek

PS:  I'm doing a relay for the UBC tri (swimming), and hopefully our team will place highly!

Sounds like the Oliver Half Iron is going to be the place to be this year! Should be a good time!

So far, I'm only registered for Oliver HIM and IMC. Other than that, I'm thinking about:
April Fools Run (half mary)
Sun Run
Vancouver half marathon
Canada Day Swim at Sasamat

Kinda boring, but I want to do well at my A races (Oliver and IMC).

For me this year it is:

UBC (Oly)
NB half Victoria
IM Canada

Might add the Vancouver Intl Sprint and Scotia Half marathon.

My daughter set her wedding date on the same weekend as the Apple Triathlon last year. I made her change it.

Hahaha Very smooth.

I wish I had that kind of pull with my Sister! Oh well, I'll just have to do all the other halfs and dominate them!

I'm baaaa-aack!

I'm racing Shawnigan Lake (sprint), Tri of Compassion, and Sri ... maybe another sprint or Oly or two thrown in there for shites and giggles.

I'm racing this year for two reasons:
#1 - in honour of my good friend Chris, who took his own life in November, and who was training for his first Ironman.
#2 - as part of my fundraising challenge for Africa - LONG story, but I'm swimming, biking, and running my way to Africa! Check out this link for more info - and PLEASE sponsor me! ;-)
http://www.423nutrition.ca/send_me_to_africa.html

I look forward to re-connecting with you all! I've had a good break from triathlon, but it's time to come back. I miss my bike. ;-)

My dance card is seriously full. I just counted and I've got 13 races in the next 23 days. Add a 3day track event the weekend after that and it's about 23 (give or take) races in the next 30 days.

I'm trying to take the most hardcore award away from Leah.

That's nutty!

I'm actually really jealous of your bike racing and/or track racing.  I REALLY want to get into it, but I still need to do LTR 3 and learn to race at the track!  As for road races, I'm not even sure where to look, as I will be in Victoria for the summer, but I guess I'll just ask around.

I would say 13 races in 23 days is pretty freakin' impressive
