Master 2277 Lake Norman, NC | Subject: Who got punked for April Fools Day? This morning I screamed out, "oh no! Our computer got infected with the Conficker worm and it erased everything in our My Documents folder!" My wife came bolting up the stairs screaming and before she got to the top, Gracie (7), was saying, "Mommy! It's April Fools Day!" PWNED. This morning my newest hire came in to my office to inform me that his old company made him a counter-offer to bring him back and he handed me a letter of resignation. I didn't buy it for a second, shook his hand and said I was sorry to see him go. I asked for his badge and went to my computer to kill his domain account and submit the termination request with HR before he screamed out, "no wait! My god please don't! It's only an April Fools joke!" PWNED. Little did I know that, that little stunt was supposed to be "the diversion". My primary vendor had scheduled a conference call back on Monday with myself and my boss. So in a closed-door meeting this Executive VP calls and informs us that there's a rumor that his company is going to be acquired. Not just financial, but fuill operational and the CEO was telling him that they were reviewing revenue streams and what would be the impact if they dropped Food Lion as a customer. "I have no real facts, this is just rumor, but when the CEO is aking me these types of questions, it gets me thinking." Understand that I'm about to cut a $7 million dollar PO for a massive, critical, project for these guys through the rest of the year. If this were true and they backed out now, we would be up the creek without a paddle. So I'm sweating and freaking out as well as my boss. This news is too much to handle at this time. After the call we're talking about what are the options and how can we save the project. We're talking about our strategy and if we tell other people or wait for more info. My boss is freaking out (he deserves the frickin' Academy Award). After a 20 minute call and 10 minutes of talking (and messing myself) it dawns on me... I call him back and demand to know if I've been punked for April Fools Day. Yes he admitted. It's not so much that I was burned, but I notice that my boss is busting up laughing. Bastard was in on it! "F***!!!!" I scream out. And I hear all 6 guys on my team bust up laughing. They were ALL in on it and watching me on my boss's web cam! The whole damn team had been planning it for a week! Aaaaaaargh! I'm usually the one doing the punking and this was revenge for a stunt I pulled on them last year. I'm not usually this gullible. Man did they all get me good! PWNED!!!! I now have 12 months to plan something really REALLY REALLY good on them next year!

And other than my 6 yo daughter telling me I had spiders on various things on the ride into school, it has been a tame day for me. Although I did chuckle at Bontrager suggesting that their product gave Lance a bionic collar bone. |

Then I asked, "They sent an email saying that they can't get the door fronts in the color you want anymore."He was totally pissed and was mad that they didn't phone him. We've already taken home the door fronts once in the color we didn't want and had to take them back. As I'm sure you know, there was no such email. I got caught by this one: Edited by jeng 2009-04-01 4:33 PM |

Extreme Veteran 601 Bainbridge Island, Washington | Subject: RE: Who got punked for April Fools Day? I didn't, yet anyway...but I pulled a few pranks. Nothing major, but no one can figure out who did it lol In the kitchen, I turned all the chairs around, away from the table. It looks like a bunch of ghosts were in there lol (Think Sixth Sense when she turned around and all the cupboards were open). Then in the women's room, I folded all the ends of the toilet paper to a triangle, like they do in your hotel room. I know, tame, but I'm new here so have to be careful! |

Member 34 Joliet | Subject: RE: Who got punked for April Fools Day? My son who is currently a Junior in college, got a great score on his law school entrance exams and is currently looking at law schools, called me to tell me that the campus security searched the dorms and found his roommates pot - that they both had to go before some judicial board. All I can think is - there goes law school..... So I ask him what he needs to do and he tell me - Tell them April Fools! I could have killed him. I then picked my heart up off the floor and went back to work. Of course as soon as I got home I called my husband and pranked him with it!!

Master 1932 Savannah, | Subject: RE: Who got punked for April Fools Day? I live for this day. I love to get my kids. For breakfast, I put a few drops of green food coloring in their cereal bowls...added the cereal. Then when I poured the milk in front of them, they were amazed! (but at ages 6 and nearly 9, they are used to my April Fool's ways). For their lunch boxes I put in an apple that I had cored out a hole with a big straw and had a gummy worm coming out of it. My favorite (because I thought of it myself) was to make a nice, impressive blue jello mold, but instead of putting fruit in it, I put baby carrots. They ate it anyway! They just ate around the carrots. And my oldy, but goody-grilled cheese sandwiches. It is really thinly sliced, toasted pound cake with orange-ish frosting in between and cut to look like a sandwich. All harmless, but so fun for me. Sophie took an empty cardboard jewelry box to school (where you put a finger in from below and it looks like you have a cut off finger in the box) Doug was out of town, so he escaped my trickery today....but there is always next year.

Master 2014 Ohio | Subject: RE: Who got punked for April Fools Day? My wife was lamenting a few weeks ago that all the "good classes" at the Y are at times she cannot make it there. Before she realized what she was say she asked me "Why does the Y only offer classes during the morning, day and nights?" We both cracked up. Today the Y got this in their comment card box: I love the Y. I also like many of the classes the Y offers but you’ve scheduled them at bad times. Your early morning classes are too early for me to get up for. Your daytime classes are during my workday. After work the kids have homework and I have to make dinner. Once dinner is over I’m too tired to come to the Y for a class. Your weekend classes conflict with family activities we try to do on weekends. I don’t understand why you only have classes in the morning, daytime, evenings and at night! Could you please schedule classes during more convenient times? It's lame, but I can't wait to see if they post it. |

Champion 4835 Eat Cheese or Die | Subject: RE: Who got punked for April Fools Day? I'm not sure yet. This morning we sent off a fake news letter from a rival Tri team (there is a history between the founders of each) announcing that a few of us from our club are joining this rival team as the new Clydesdale division. We didn't hear anything all day. This evening we got very heartfelt emails from our club founder wishing us the best of luck and how much it means to him that we have belonged to the club and hoping he'll still be able to say hi to us at races. So, I'm not sure if he knows that we're joking and is trying to turn it around, or if it was sincere. If it's sincere, I'm going to feel bad, but I'm going to let the instigator decided when to call it. Other then that, I didn't do anything and was not on the receiving end of any pranks. |
