Subject: RE: The heat!!DO IT (if you're prepared )! I try to get out in the morning (like 0445!! ) but not always possible. Yeah, it's hot--so you have to do three things: 1. ) Hydrate well all day long before going out on your run 2. ) Hydrate during your run, more so than normal cause you're losing more 3. ) Wear appropriate sun protection: clothing, hat, sunscreen, etc. Also, be prepared for your times to be slower, and that's okay...your normal effort will most likely not result in your normal pace simply cause it's hot, but it's the effort/intensity/consistency that will help with improvement. I abhor treadmills...and the heat is one of the motivators for me to get my butt out of bed right now. Though, I have a run scheduled this next week specifically for the PM, and it's gonna suck, so I'm going to prepare ahead of time. |
