I am looking at getting a Cervelo P2c it's a 51, I'm not going to be able to ride it for a while. I'm 5'8" with a 30" inseam. Now I know that it is different for everyone, and I plan on getting fit for it. But I just wanted to know if anyone else has about these same figures and rides a 51. Thanks

A 51 seems a little small to me, Cervelo or not. I would guess a 54 might be more like it. Are you buying this online or something? If you are going through a bike shop they should size and fit you to the right bike so there is no questioning the frame size. If you are getting it online I would go to a shop to get meausured before you do any purchasing.

For what it is worth I ride a 56 cervelo with a 32 inseem at 5'11 but there is more to a fit then just your inseem and height.

Good luck

Yes the bike is online, the reason I can't get a fit for a while is the only Cervelo dealer where I live is quite a ways away. I just have never ridden cervelos before. I ride a 52 felt now the 54 Felt is to big for me.

There is no way to tell without getting fit on it.  I am 5'5" and I ride a 47cm Bianchi and a 51cm Cervelo.

Find a local bike shop and sit on a 51cm and see...that's the only way....

For starters I would go online and compare the geometry specs from you 52 felt to the 51 cervelo. See how compatible they are.

For what its worth I am 5' 11" a with a 34" inseam and ride a 54 P2C. I think you have to take your upper body length into consideration as well. But I dunno......they stuck me on a 54 and it works!!

Good Luck!

To point out the difference, I'm also 5' 5" and I ride 48cm. Go in and give it a test ride.

honestly what you need to do is go in and get a fit done, there is no need to ever even see the cervelo or be on anything but the fit bike to find one that will work with you, they will give you the numbers and let you know which bikes in which sizes will fit the best

I'm 5'4" (short) and ride a 51cm Cervelo with 700c wheels. I probably should be riding something a bit smaller like a 48cm with 650 wheels, but my bike performance isn't causing me any problems whatsoever.

5'9", 30" insean here, 54cm P2 fits like a glove. When i bought my Dual online a few years back, the customer service people insisted I needed a 51, even though I rode a 54 and a 55 in my road bikes. Of course it was too small, and they were nice enough to exchange it and pay for return shipping.

Point is, you'll never know until you try it in person.

I am 5'11" and a 1/2.  But I have a 35" inseam.  I first purchased a 58 that fit perfect.  But I was just convinced that I should be on a 56.  So I purchased a 2nd P2C that was 56.  Little adjustment it also fits very well.  Initally I tried a 54 and there was no way.

Part of the consideration has to be how long of a race are you going to use it for?  IM/HIM the 58 would really be better for me.  Sprints the 56 probably is better.

I also often am tweaking my fit.

Everybody's body shape/size/length/etc. is different, and a number of bikes have different geometries.  If the fitter is well-knowledged, helpful, is good at his craft, and has great customer service, then I'm thinking you'll be fine and will be fitted appropriately.

Besides, Cervelo is a terrific bike.  I love my P2SL Pro Limited Edition!

I have your exact measurments and I ride a 51 P2.  Fits perfect.  I would say you probably don't need a 54 b/c judging by your height and inseam you don't have a long torso.  the 51 will be compact and you could get very low in the front. But like others say, get fit.  let us know what works in the end

51cm should be good for you.  Go get a proper fit done though if you really want to be sure.

I am 5'9" (and a half) and I ride a 54cm Cannondale road bike.  Went and got a custom fit done and they recommended a 51cm if I chose to buy the Cervelo P2 (which I did).  However, I know that size of bike varied among bike brands.  If chose to buy a Felt, for example, I would of got the 54cm.  After I got the bike I went back to the fitter so it could be dialed right in there for me.  The 'Missile' as I call my Cervelo, rides like a gem and the couple bones I spent on a custom fit were worth it.

Remember too that it's easier to make a bike bigger then it is to shrink a bike.
