Ok, so I checked (because I've seen different spellings, and I want to make sure I use the correct one ), and I get to use the one with 2 e's (I don't know how to do the stupid little accent with my keyboard ). But, he will be the fiancee... (do people really hate that I call him 'the boy' all that much? ) From Wikipedia (the greatest source in the world, I know... ) A man who is engaged to be married is called his partner's fiancé; a woman similarly engaged is called her partner's fiancée. These words are pronounced identically in English; the separate feminine form exists because of the inflectional morphology of grammatical gender in French, where the term originated.
