Subject: This made me laugh...a lot

Was thinking of adding in one more late season triathlon during my taper time.  Looked at doing St. Paul triathlon long course.  Three weeks out from Wisconsin would be perfect.  Knowing full well it is a Vacation Sports event I am OK with it and expect it not to be the most well organized or measured correct.  Go to sign up and I see the price for the race.  $95.00!!!  Is Randy smoking something not quite street legal? $95.00...uh yea, I guess I'll pass.

He was probably inspired by the thousands willing to pay $100+ for Lifetime.  (which is also crazy)

His other stuff is cheap enough, maybe this one has pricey park fees or something.

I've paid near that for other races, I'm sorry to admit.  Burrito Union, IronGirl, etc.

Not sure what's funnier... The fact that you were even considering this race or how ridiculously overpriced it is.  Sadly though, it's pretty much the only Oly in the state in late Aug.

I'd been trying to find an oly to do in late aug/early sept. and can't.   I've been training all summer and will peak just in time for lakes in Baxter, but it's only a sprint.  Why are the really fun ones in June of all times (Triona and Buffalo)?  I'm going to have to start training a lot earlier next spring if I want to peak in June...but then what can I focus on the rest of the summer?

There is an Oly in Hudson on the first week of Sept.  Go to finalstretch.com and look for the St. Croix international race.  It's very well done and has a wonderfully "challenging" hill on the bike route.  That is one race I can recommend.
