I broke down and bought an aero helmet today. I think they look really silly, but after my coach yelled at me for using Zipp wheels with no aero helmet I decided to take the plunge.
It's a Giro Advantage2 with red trim (to match my P3 of course ). I'll be trying it out this weekend in a sprint tri -along with 808 front and disk rear zipps in prep for my 1/2 next month. At least I'll look fast

Now you need to accessorize the helmet... I figured the below was about right for my new Aero Helmet:

I saw someone out training with one a few days ago.  I may now have the courage to do it.

I just bought the same helmet today to wear in my race Sunday. I went in to buy my first TT bike and wanted to get into the mood while I make my final selections.

How did you decide between the P2 & P3? I can't seem to decide. I'm leaning toward the P2 so I will have the extra bucks to put into a better set of race wheels.

I would have bought the P2 BUT, I found a new P3C ( dura-ace) from 2008 for "only" 400 more than the P2c. If I got the ultegra package it would have been only 100 more than the P2. Personally, I didn't want to regret that I "may" want something better in 2 years. I'm hoping this will last me QUITE a while. There went all my college spending money.

looking at your speed, one would think you already have one....wow--you are FAST!

never thought about the race wheels and not having an aero helmet....your coach makes a good point...1000+ for wheels, yet no aero helmet?

I'm in that boat.....hmmmm....maybe I should buy one...

that new Rudy project one is pretty sweet...though $300 for a helmet is difficult to justify.  wait a second....no its not....

Wow that's a great bike for a great price. Nice score. Don't worry about the spending money. You'll have the bike for years, long after the hazy memories of partying would have faded.

Well, I guess the helmet was worth the investment! I got runner up to Kona AG record holder Donna Kay-Ness - I managed to hold her off on the bike but she passed me mid way thru the run. The best part is that I won enough loot to cover the helmet cost
I'll post some pics later today!

no idea if I went faster because of the helmet or the wheels, but I averaged about 22 mph on a very hilly technical course in the rain so it couldn't have hurt.
