Subject: RE: Have you been contacted about being a IM WI Volunteer yet?The past 2 years I've usually been contacted by the volunteer coordinator 2 weeks before the event. You can always email the volunteer coordinator for IM, but they are busy and might respond with copying your specific coordinator. This year I have regular contact with the bike course coordinator so I'm more knowledgeable than in past years. What I'm doing is not listed in the official volunteer positions (I don't think ), but I still had to officially register for "sag wagon" I think. So, I'm not really a sag wagon, but something like a coordinator, and it's: "Bike course sector captain." Help set the course in the morning and take it down behind the last biker around 1:30. Training for my "sector" is Friday afternoon where I'll get cones and signs. Sunday I meet other captains at 4:30a to finalize details and set up my section of the course. Then, just patrol my section for needs, make calls for help in getting pointers, bike techs for breakdowns, or possible emergencies. |
