Is everyone ready for the Chicago Tri?  This will be my first time competing in this race and only my 2nd Tri total.  But I am really excited.  It seems like a fun race and a little chaotic with all of the participants.  I just raced in my first sprint tri last weekend and now I am hooked!

As ready as I can be given I only trained for 12 weeks this time around. This will be my 3rd Tri and 2nd time doing the Olympic at Chicago. I can't believe we only have a week and a half left! Eeep!

I'm kinda regretting not signing up for this. I had a friend talk me out of it because of how chaotic it is. I will be there watching though. Good luck to all you guys!

I am registered, but am debating whether to do it...my training is not quite what I would like it to be.  I may go ahead and race because I was not planning on PRing this race as it is so chaotic and the transition area is huge.

That and you will only be running and not having to worry about the bike.  That's my department.

I am looking forward to it, but a bit nervous as well!  I am signed up for the Olympic, and I have only done that distance one other time two summers ago in Dallas.  I have never done a "city" tri - so the course should be fun/interesting.  NOT looking forward to the packed swim - I have enough trouble without 100+ people trying to kick me in the head.  But overall really excited for it to be here!  I went to the expo last year and it was really good, so I am looking forward to that as well.

i'll be racing and I really look forward to this being my first tri that I get to take in the whole after party experience.  I've made arrangements with my wife to be the DD and have planned about as much into the logistics of partying the night of as I have the day of racing.

that being said, since steelhead i've done almost NO training aside from the random 2 mile barefoot run here and there.

I look forward to a BT meet up!  Is there a certain area where you guys typically meet up before and after the race?  I'll be there with a big high five for everyone.

I'll be there as well.  I could be better off in the swim training (who couldn't), but I'm not looking to PR any of the parts and will be working on pacing and having a good time.

I think it will be quite an experience looking up from swimming and seeing all the people around and soaking in the general atmosphere.

I'll be there.  I'm doing this race more for fun and with some friends.  I haven't swam much in the last month, as I've switching over to more marathon training.  I'm just hoping all the swimming i did earlier in the year will be there for me.

The race should be a good time, with Lake Shore Drive repaved north of Irving Park it should make for a better ride.  Coming southbound watch out for some large bumps around North Ave.  They jolt my car pretty good when I'm driving.

Anybody want to gather for a swim on Sunday? I can't Saturday because I have a long brick scheduled.

I need to get in an hour or so swim (not for Chicago, that's Mrs. Crowny's department) ...

Crowny -- you best be ready to GET. IT. ON!

Oh and if y'all want I can arrange a post-race party at a bar in my 'hood with food and such. If we get enough people we can reserve a room for free and then eat and drink the night away. Anybody???

I have a long swim scheduled for Sunday on my calendar.  Was just planning to hit Lifetime Fitness, but would probably benefit from an OWS.  Are you thinking Ohio St. beach?

I may be in for the swim too but not 100% sure yet but I should get at least another OWS in before the race.

I fluctuate in my training too and this will be my first race in downtown.  I agree that it may be chaotic but it could be fun as well...if you go out there to enjoy yourself and have a good time too.

Yeah Ohio Street Beach ... in the morning, but not too early!

And yes Blackledge, I live in the SLoop. KRom lives nearby, I think.
